Schoeneberg-quiet, cosy, convenient

Apartment - Private room · Gustav-Müller-Straße, Berlin, Berlin 10829, Germany

The Space

The apartment is located in a very safe, quiet, tree-lined, street. It is warm, clean and quiet. Perfect, if you like to live away from the noise and hassle of the inner-city but you still want to see the sights ... Brandeburger Tor is only a 10 minute train ride away.

The 15m2 bedroom is very cosy and comfortable. It has a queen-size double bed. And, of course, there are plenty of pillows, blankets, bed linen, and towels. If you would prefer 2 single beds - it can easily be arranged. The bedroom has a huge double wardrobe to store all your clothes and stuff, so there's always plenty of room to stretch out relax. And if you need a work desk - no problem.

It has a great little kitchen with a new fridge and washing machine. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need - plates, cutlery, pots and pans, toaster, blender, ... even some tea, coffee, herbs, etc.

And, in the evening, after a big day in the city, light some candles and enjoy a long hot soak in the bath.

Of course, there's a speedy DSL wireless internet connection.

The immediate neighbourhood is very peaceful and safe with lots of trees and small parks, and a smattering of cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, antique shops, and takeaways. And a great little organics shop for all your fresh fruit and veges.

A short 10 min walk takes you to the warm heart of Schoeneberg - Akazienstrasse - renowned for it's many great restaurants, bars, takeaways and wonderful boutique shopping of all kinds. Nearby you can find all the standard shops you need - banks, supermarkets, post-office, bottle stores, chemists, etc.

If you love the markets check out the 3 street markets in the area - the Turkish market, Nollendorfplatz, and Rathaus Schoeneberg,

Also you might want to check out Rathaus Schoeneburg - this is the city hall where JFK gave his famous speech. It is situated next to a beautiful park which is a lovely place to stroll and picnic when the weather is good.

Getting around Berlin for sightseeing, work, or visiting friends is a very easy because there are so many transport options.

There are 3 train stations handy and numerous bus routes. This means easy access to the airports, city centre, and outer suburbs. It is also very handy for a trip to historical Potsdam.

Sudreuz is the closest train station - 5 mins walk. It is a busy hub for trains, buses and taxis. It is a major station on the Ring-bahn (the circular train track around Berlin). You can also catch Berlin city trains, and many inter-city trains here. Also, you can get to Schoenefeld airport direct by train from here.

Lastly, there's my trusty yellow bicycle, which your are very welcome to use - perfect for shopping trips and getting around the city. Like all good Berlin street bikes - it looks a bit battered but it is basically indestructible. Trust me - I've put it through hell and she still goes well.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Berlin and my apartment - I usually check airbnb several times a day.

  • It was a pleasure staying at Paul's flat. Very centrally-located and the bed was extra comfortable. Paul was readily available for any concerns and we had some good chats about travel experiences - he's a very nice guy and a great host.

  • What a great and accommodating host! His place was a perfect ending to my week long trip to Poland/Germany. Close to several stations of Berlin's famous public transportation system.

The apartment looks exactly like the listing photos and everything was in working/proper order.

I would definitely stay there anytime in the future that I have to travel to Berlin.

  • It's the best value for money appartment you will find in Berlin. Clean, centraly located (20min ride from potsdamer platz) but at the same time very quiet.
And, coming from a foreign country, you will find a much needed friendly local ally in the face of Paul, the host :).

  • Paul's place was comfortable and clean, and very conveniently located to the train station, although the path from Südkreuz to his place is quite poorly lit at night. Paul was a great host—he was friendly and we had some interesting conversations but I also felt like I had my own space and privacy.

  • a very very good option

  • It was a pleasure to stay at Paul's in Berlin. Location was great, very accessible by train, bus, foot and at the same time it was a very quiet and private area. Paul is extremely kind and hospitable and it was lovely to have great in-depth conversations with him. He was extremely respectful of our privacy and very considerate as well.He provided us with all sorts of information, including maps and guidebooks and also very generously provided us with extra warm blankets and the heater to ensure our comfort stay (we didn't even need to ask for it).
I definitely recommend his place to anyone visiting Berlin.

Hi, I have been living in Berlin for about 5 years. For my job I teach English. It's a great job because I'm always meeting new people and helping them to communicate better. In my free time I like to meet up with my friends in a cafe, or bike around the city and parks. I read voraciously and eclectically, e.g. novels, travel, history, biography, health, economics, and current events. I'm always learning new things, and at the moment my current project is testing new business ideas people who want to learn English online.
