The Space

London can be an expensive city. But our London flat isn't - it is designed and priced to enable you really enjoy this great city and all the special events and activities which happen here. Verified photos from AirBnB - their photographer, Sophie, fell in love with the flat and its location - for good reason.

A London self-contained one bed-roomed ground floor flat which is perfect for enjoying the buzz of London life while not being caught up in traffic and noise. Great public transport links 24/7 plus wide band communications - e-mail, text, internet and (website hidden) from the sofa and workstation too. Well fitted out so you can travel light. If you need a local PAYG SIM card for your unlocked mobile phone just let us know in advance.

- Living room has a 46 inch flat screen colour television with AppleTV (download and view the latest movies and TV programmes in HD or watch our existing movie collection) + surf the web from the sofa. Plus a desk for catching up with work with its own workstation and full internet access. We have high capacity broadband and wireless broadband available 24/7 and also a fast router and cable to connect to your own laptop.
- Large fully fitted kitchen diner with Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, Colour Television/DVD. It really is a Cook's kitchen with a Magimix, an automatic capsule espresso maker as well as filter coffee maker, a fridge/freezer with ice etc. There is also a steam iron and ironing board with a walk-in airing cupboard
- Fully fitted double bedroom with colour television/DVD (just (email hidden)) (hairdryer in drawer)
- Bathroom with walk in hydrotherapy jet bath (i.e. "jacuzzi" equivalent ) and overhead shower. Plenty of towels provided.

The flat is 50 yards from Hendon Railway station. This has trains into St Pancras every 15 minutes with a journey time of just 17 minutes. You can time your journey down to the minute - the train arrivals and departure boards are available on your iPhone and on the web in the flat. So waiting on a draughty train station is a thing of the past. The train service also runs directly to Wimbledon Station (journey time one hour) for tennis; Gatwick Airport (70 minutes) and Luton Airport (23 minutes). The London Underground Station is also only a 10-12 minute walk away or short bus ride. There is also an excellent bus service (83 and 183) which is just 60 yards from the house and both buses go to Golders Green where you can catch the National Express coach to Stansted Airport. Night buses to and from Trafalgar Square run past the front door of the house.

The property is twelve minutes walk from the Brent Cross Shopping Centre with late night opening and major stores (e.g. The Apple Store, M&S, Fenwicks, John Lewis, Waitrose, Boots, along with 120 other stores). There is also a large Sainsbury’s supermarket about 10-15 minutes walk away or short bus journey. At Hendon Central there are also small local Tesco and Sainsbury’s supermarkets which stay open each night to 11.00pm as well as a Post Office.

Sightseeing and Eating Out:
The train service with underground connections including West Hampstead, St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars means you can easily get to any part of London you want to. You are just minutes away from all the key venues. There is a good selection of restaurants in West Hampstead but London has the most ethnically diverse food in the world and food markets on Sundays e.g. in Camden are great for trying out something a little different after a stroll along the canal from Regent’s Park.

Want to do business in London? We are in a great location for getting to all the key London business 'hotspots' : 'Silicon Roundabout', the City, the West End - all the places where business and British enterprise thrives. We do it ourselves on a daily basis so we know where to 'hot desk' and where to 'chill out'.

Welcome Pack on Arrival:
There is a welcome pack which is free of charge so no need to rush out and buy food immediately. We provide milk, orange juice, bottle of water, bottle of red wine, tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit, spread and croissants. Items can be varied according to dietary/cultural requirements - just email us in advance.

Check in and Check out times:
We try to be as flexible as possible with check in and out times, particularly with early morning flight arrivals or late departures.

We have a stock of visitor’s parking permits which are currently priced at £1 per day.

Mobility Impaired Guests:
For mobility impaired guests the flat is all on one level except for two steps into the kitchen - and it has a walk-in bath with jet massage (see photos). It is not however suitable for manual or motorised wheelchair users as the corridors are too narrow.

Dogs Allowed:
One well behaved dog allowed by prior arrangement and subject to a supplementary daily fee of £5 per night.

  • My daughter and I spent 2 weeks in Alistair and Diana's flat and indeed it did have everything! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and we were greeted on our first day with a welcome pack of "supplies" so we didn't have to shop after our long flight. We were a 5 minute or less walk to a train that brought us from Hendon in North London to Kings Cross/ St Pancras underground station and access to central London within minutes. Hendon is a pleasant neighborhood, walking distance to Middlesex University and accessible by bus or underground to Golders Green and other North London areas.
As described, the flat was high tech with easy internet access and British TV available in the living room, bedroom and even the kitchen.
The flat was spotless and comfortable. Our hosts were available for any questions we might have and we could not have asked for better accommodations. I highly recommend Alistair and Diana's flat for your London visit.

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hendon. Alistair and Diane were perfect hosts. They were close at hand if and when we needed help. Their apartment was immaculate and we felt very much at home. If you want something in close proximity to public transport then this place is for you, as buses drive by and the train station is just a stone's through away.

  • We have just spent two weeks at Alistair and Diana's wonderful apartment in Hendon. There were three of us, my husband, son and myself.
The apartment was as described and much much more. It was warm and very comfortable and so well appointed and equipped that we only needed to buy our food groceries.
The location is perfect and an Oyster card makes travel simple.
Alistair and Diana were perfect hosts, they met us at the apartment and told us all we needed to know re appliances and left us to it, they live upstairs and available for any problems of which there were none.
We would highly recommend this wonderful apartment.

  • Alistair and Diana were absolutely lovely, the perfect hosts. They made me feel welcome, were a great resource for questions and advice, and they were so sweet with my kitty Mathilda, who stayed in the apartment with me. They love animals and they're not just tolerating them, they're clearly happy to have them there!

Bonus: You'll arrive to find a selection of croissants, butter, jam, cookies, tea, etc waiting for you, along with quality bath and shower products.

The apartment is a lot bigger than I expected, with a big, comfy bed and a thick winter comforter, a sizeable fully furnished kitchen (you could have 6 people here for dinner), a bath with bathtub, and a very comfortable living room in the front with a flat screen tv and a well populated library so you have something to read on the train.

There's easy parking (never had trouble finding a spot) around the corner from the house, and Alistair and Diana can arrange parking permits for you, though a permit is only required from 10-11am on M-F. Take the train into town, about 15 minutes from the station (one block away) to St Pancras, from where you can get on the underground system or take trains anywhere. You can also walk in 5-10 minutes to the Hendon tube station nearby. The train was especially convenient for my work in Farringdon, which was on the same line. Perfect commute!

In short, great hosts, beautiful, spacious maisonette apartment that feels very private and is easy to access because it takes up the whole ground floor. I had expected a tough ten days, moving abroad and starting a new job in London with my husband stuck in America until his visa came through. Being able to stay with Alistair and Diana made my life so much easier. Quick commute, close to stores like IKEA so I could buy things for my new house in the evening after work, and a safe and very pleasant place for my kitty Mathilda to stay while I was at work all day.

Thank you Alistair and Diana! This was my first experience with AirBnB and I am so glad I chose to stay with you!

  • Great flat and great hosts. Milk in the fridge, fruit, wine, tea, coffee. Fluffy bath robe, bubbly bath, decent wifi, what more could one want. The flat was immaculate, everything worked, but most importantly Alistair and his partner were warm, friendly, helpful, give a great welcome. I thoroughly recommend this property.

  • Had a wonderful time at Diane and Alistair's apartment in Hendon.
Great welcome when we arrived. Fantastic place, great hosts and when they say flat with everything that's no joke. We were surprised by the amount care and attention that was taken to ensure everything was at hand. Would definitely stay again and a big thank you Diane for the lunch packet you prepared for us for the trip home.

  • This was such a wonderful flat in London. The pictures are exactly as shown but more importantly very cozy and welcoming. Diana was such a pleasant hostess and had so much warmth in her welcome, that you felt settled in the flat almost immediately when you met her. The WIFI/Internet access was excellent and so easy to log on, it felt like we were in our own home. For the days we took the tube, the station was an easy and convenient walk.

I highly recommend this flat as it (email hidden) to stay, the hosts are very efficient and thoughtful about the guests needs, there communication was superb but most of all, both Diana & Alistair were such a pleasure to work with. You'll definitely be happy with this rental.

  • We had a wonderful time at Alastair and Diane's wonderful flat. All the pictures are accurate and the place was spotless. Simple tube and bus and you are in the centre of London. Highly recommended, not only for the space but the hosts were exceptional, can't wait to return!!

  • We so enjoyed our stay with Diana and Alistair! They were so welcoming and kind. Diana even put together and picnic basket and Wimbledon instructions when she found out we were going to attempt the tournament, which was incredibly thoughtful.

If you're looking for a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle, this flat is great.

  • Alastair and Diana could not have been more welcoming, greeting us with fruit and wine and even a bowl and towels for our dog. The flat is very thoughtfully kitted out, well stocked kitchen, fast wifi, great televisions, very nice bed linens etc. We were very comfortable and cosy during our stay. The flat is very handily located with fast train links from the station only two minutes away. The owners are a lovely couple , excellent hosts and the flat is very good value indeed. Recommended!

Gosh - I've done lots of things. I've been a barrister dealing with high tech cases in the UK courts. I have been a Forensic Computing Expert Witness, dealing with the reliability of computer evidence. I have written a couple of books and Special Reports for the Economist. I've been very fat but now I am normal sized at last. I have invented a couple of things and have granted patents in my name. I cannot live without my Darjeeling Tea and my fresh Illy coffee. When I am out and about I cannot survive without Starbucks. I love working - see my website for background. Diana, my wife and best friend, is the 'brain' and engine behind our AirBnB operations. She is the person in charge of things like 'thread counts' in the bedlinen and she ensures that everything is run to her standards. I just help out with the administration and techie things for our business visitors. My Chromebook and my Amazon Kindle go everywhere with me. At home it is my trusty Apple iMac that I rely upon. That plus two smart mobile phones - which. because this is London, work around the clock. We want you to really enjoy London which we consider to be the greatest city in the world - cosmopolitan, clever, international, artistic and friendly (yes!). Our flat will give you a base to do just that - log on and make your bookings then go out and have fun. Or sit in and watch British television in HD - the best television programming in the world. We are a good base for doing business in 'Silicon Roundabout', the West End, the City - in fact in all the best parts of our capital.
