About this listing
Top floor, on two levels and overlooking the prestigious Place aux Herbes, is this very spacious apartment of 140 sq m.
In fact, space is one of the operative words best describing the apartment, there is indeed lots of it!
Renovated in a traditional manner with roof beams, tall ceilings and handpainted bathroom tiles, it transports you instantly into the timeless French atmosphere though at the same time with wifi & assorted mod cons at your fingertips.
As is everything else.
All facilities can be found within 5 - 250 m of the square which is, to top it all, traffic free.
Most of the living space is on the lower level and the mezzanine bedroom, full bathroom and small dressing room are located on the upper floor along with the terrace.
Unlike many of the apartments on offer, mine is not furnished and arranged hotel-style but is an actual real life home. Which means a large library of books & to some extent music plus all the endless little extras amenities that are found in a home.
Immediately below your windows, there are all the countless delights of Uzès with the two weekly markets and numerous little eating places in the shade of the sandstone arches or the plane trees.
Veggies, fish and other stalls are there 4/5 days/week so no need to ever go hungry!
All other types of intriguing and unusual shops (albeit on a small scale) are found around the square or on the winding little cobbled streets in the immediate vicinity.
Other necessities of modern living, banks, doctors & dentists abound as well, they all got wind of what a super little place this is!
Practical information re planes, trains & motorways, which are all in the vicinity (but not too close) please ask me for advise.
A bus service runs to Avignon and Nimes for € 1,50, far less than a parking fee.
One of the most recognizable landmarks of Europe, the Roman Pont-du-Gard, is just down the road as are countless other places of historical or cultural interest, Avignon and Nimes being both within 35 minutes drive and other, smaller places too numerous to mention.
After 20 years here, I still have an impressive list of things to do/see!
Respect the property and neighbours. below. No smoking other than on the terrace.
