Modern, spacious, non-smoking, apartment in the heart of the revitalised vibey Cape Quarter/de Waterkant at the foot of Signal Hill and just a few minutes walk from the city centre. This former "slave" area has been declared a National Preservation Area and renovated within strict guidelines to preserve the architectural style of the eighteenth century. Today, de Waterkant is a very fashionable, cosmopolitan area leading off from Somerset Road on the "fanwalk" from the city centre to the 2010 World Cup Soccer Stadium in Greenpoint. Explore its cobbled streets, Cape Dutch/Georgian/Eastern architectural mix, cafés, delis, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, boutiques and galleries. Walk to the V&A Waterfront or through Greenpoint Urban Park to the lighthouse at Mouille Point and the Seapoint Promenade. The promenade stretches 4kms from Granger Bay (next to V & A) to Bantry Bay with lawns alongside. There is access to small beaches long the route which, although not suitable for swimming, offer pleasant relaxation areas.
The self service, non-smoking, apartment is tiled throughout , with underfloor heating and ceiling fans in all rooms plus air-conditioner in open-plan living area. There is wifi access, see house manual for details.
The lay-out ensures privacy in both bedrooms: both with two single beds. Both bedrooms are en-suite.
The open plan living/dining area is well equipped with comfortable sofas (one converts into a full double bed) , satellite TV and dining table/chairs to accommodate up to 6 persons. The open plan kitchen has full cooking facilities, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a laundry area with automatic washer and dryer.
The building offers security (24hr concierge), a lift and 1 secure parking bay (on apartment level).
The apartment opens onto a small "piazza" with planters etc.
The apartment is serviced weekly at no extra charge on long lets.
Airport transfers can be arranged.
There is a taxi rank just outside the building or catch the excellent value My Citi bus, outside the Cape Quarter Mall, to Seapoint, Clifton and Camp's Bay.

The MyCiti bus has extended its routes. Catch the bus outside the Cape Quarter Mall for Seapoint, Clifton beaches and Camp's Bay.

There is 1 designated parking bay for Unit 6 on level 7 (Please use the right bay nearest the wall) - entrance de Smit Street. Please do not park in any other bay.
If you use the French Press, please do not put the coffee grounds down the kitchen sink.
Out of hours arrival/departure: Please indicate what time you would like to arrive/depart. We try to be flexible subject to arrival/departure and housekeeping schedule.
Please vacate the apartment by the agreed time. This is clearly indicated on the access code supplied.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay in this apartment. The hosts Liliane and Mike provided plenty of helpful information to make the stay more enjoyable. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed and walking distance to both the city and the waterfront. Immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay including full kitchen facilities. The couch was really comfy too, as we discovered after a long day of sight seeing. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Cape Town.

We stay in Liliane and Mike's appartment for 9 days. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The Cape Quarter area is great (walking distance from the shops, the waterfront, Green point).
Apartment listed as it is. Well contented and everything you require. Great place to stay! Great part of town!

The apartment is very well appointed, with all the amenities you might need. The location is also ideal, with easy access to some really good restaurants and pubs. Road access is also good. While we never met the hosts in person, there is no need as they explain everything well in advance. While there is no view, and the apartment is situated in the centre space of the property, so no balcony etc, I expect the rental price would be much more if this was the case. I would recommend this as a good place to stay.

About the Host, Mike & Liliane
We are a married couple, with 2 grown-up sons, living on 2 hectares on the highveld with 6 rotties, a staffie and 2 biewer terriers. Mike, a retired electronics engineer, owns and runs a boarding kennel and I (Liliane) am a full-time accountant. Friends and family keep asking us when we are going to retire! Probably never!
We have traveled quite a bit and also lived overseas in various places. Self catering is usually our first choice of accommodation when on holiday.
We, and the family, (unfortunately not the dogs) use our apartments in Cape Town when we can both,for business and holidays. Cape Town remains one of our favourite cities
