A spacious apartment in Agde on the banks of the River Herault, only 5 minutes from the beaches of the mediterranean. The characterful building dates back to 1679. It has a massive open plan lounge, dining area, kitchen and also 2 bathrooms.
Our apartment is on the top floor of the terracota coloured building shown in the main picture of this listing. The dining area, living room and master bedroom windows look out onto the river and the floating restaurants on the quayside and have fantastic views of the surronding countryside. The second and third bedrooms have views of the stone staircase and courtyard, reminiscent of a scene from Harry Potter.
The apartment was fully refurbished for the Summer 2011 season. It has a new open plan kitchen in the living / dining room, a separate bathroom, separate wc and an en-suite walk in shower in the master bedroom. It is fully equipped to comfortably sleep 8 people. The entrance to the apartment is at the rear of the building, next to the colourful square and close to the old tourist office and impressive Cathedral of Agde.
•The apartment has a new open plan kitchen in the living / dining room with fridge, freezer, oven, microwave,4 ring ceramic hob, dishwasher as well as all the other usual appliances you expect in a modern kitchen. The worktops are solid oak to match the 8 seater dining table and chairs which are also solid oak.
•Two, four seater leather sofas have been installed in the living area where there is a large LCD tv, dvd player, music centre with CD / ipod player / radio and a well stocked bookshelf.
•The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and a twin sofa bed making it ideal as a family room, it has an en suite shower and dressing room.
•Bedroom 2 has bunkbeds and a wardrobe, bedroom 3 has two single beds with a bedside cabinet and wardrobe.
•All bedrooms have easy access to the WC and modern bathroom which has a bath / shower, twin sinks and a washing machine. All the bedrooms have been decorated with plain whites walls contrasting the original oak beams and joists of the sloping ceilings.

We have a meet and greet service provided by Simon and Amanda who will give you the keys, show you how everything works and tell you anything you need to know about the local area.
•The apartment is ideally situated, next to the River Herault, a short walk away from the famous Canal du Midi and just a 5 minute drive from the nearest beach, there is also a lovely small park and chateau just across the river.
•You have easy access to numerous outdoor activities during the day and at night you have a massive choice of restaurants and a few bars within easy walking distance.
•You will have an amazing view of a number of live concerts held on a floating stage on the river just opposite the apartment, they also hold regular nautical jousting competitions throughout the main summer period.
•It is close to the main pedestrianised shopping street in Agde with numerous shops, supermarkets, gift shops, banks, a chemist, art galleries and a wonderful boulangerie just around the corner.
By Air : The International Airport at Montpellier is 30 min drive form Agde. Other nearby airports are Carcassonne, Perpignan, Nimes and Beziers. Slightly further away are Girona and Barcelona airports in Spain - Low fare flights operate to most of the airports. The nearest airport is Beziers-Cap d'Agde,only 15 minutes away with flights from London, Manchester, Bristol and Southampton. It is only 1 euro 60 cents for a single bus journey from Beziers airport to Agde train station.
By Train : Agde station is on a TGV line just over 4 hours from Paris,on the direct Eurostar line from London and has services to most of the airport towns. Our apartment is a 5 minute walk over the bridge to the train station.
By Bus: Local busses are plentiful and cheap in the main summer season with busses to a number of local beaches only 1 euro each way
Free parking is available on both sides of the river and nearby in the town centre.
The apartment is in a building with both holiday rentals and permanent residents so we ask our guests to consider our neighbours and act in a reasonable manner towards them.
