Whit was very accommodating of my last-minute request for a room for the weekend; he was a friendly and gracious host, the room was lovely, and the included breakfasts were homey and well prepared. As other reviewers have mentioned, the inn is a couple miles down a country road, so it's a quiet and peaceful place to relax. It's a great spot from which to explore the Shenandoah Valley and I was very pleased with my stay. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return in the future.
My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at the Brinkley Room in Barboursville, VA. When we arrive Whit left the key and a nice personal note for us about our room and offering breakfast between 8-9am. The room is exactly as it is described. Nice bed, and a large tub/shower greeted us when we checked in.
We ended up not meeting Whit until the next morning when he prepared a wonderful eggs, bacon and strawberry breakfast, which was wonderful. After our local hike and a wedding in the area we came back again to the Brinkley Room. The unit has a TV with Satellite TV, which was nice considering the Kentucky Derby was running that afternoon.
Again the following morning (our check out day) Whit prepared a cantaloupe and french toast and bacon meal, again wonderful. Whit was very kind and made us feel always at home.
We would highlight recommend to stay at Whits Brinkley Room to any of our friends in that area.
Whit was a very nice host. He had all prepared for us. The breakfast was amazing, especially the bluberry pancakes and Whit was full of advices.
My partner and I very much enjoyed our weekend stay in the Brinkley room. The second-floor room is cute, with antique furniture and a clean bathroom. The Inn is located a few miles down a country road, but is within a 30 minute drive of Charlottesville, Shenandoah National Park, and a few vineyards. Whit is a polite and helpful host. He allowed flexible check-in and out times, and he served a simple but pleasant breakfast. I think the rate charged was appropriate for the quality of the accommodations. I recommend this Inn and room.
Whit was so polite and excellent with communication, and the room and breakfast were wonderful. We would happily stay here again.

About the Host, Whit
We are from Barboursville, Va and own a B&B. I am also a school bus driver and run with the county rescue squad. I love to snow ski but don't get to do that much in Va.
