  • We had a great time. We took every mode of transportation. From Metro, a taxi, the bus & we even rode the "Duck." It was a nice place & so close to the Capitol. Beautiful place to stay.

  • Fabulous apartment in a hard-to-beat location. It looks and feels very fresh and clean, as well as excellently equipped. It is hardly a block from the Capitol South Metro station, in a truly beautiful DC neighborhood.

James met us when we came from the Union Station, and briefly explained what we had to know about the apartment and its surroundings. His restaurant recommendation (the bistro Bearnaise couple of blocks up on Pennsylvania Ave) turned out to be very good.

Would love to stay at this place when next time in DC

  • This was our second stay in Marina and James' apartment and once again it was a perfect setup in a perfect location. Will be back... again.

  • Great Apartment, we loved everything.

  • This place was perfect for a short visit to DC!! Much less expensive than any hotel close to the National Mall. I stayed with an old friend, and even though we thought we'd sleep separately, once we felt how comfy the bed was, neither of us was willing to give it up!
The Metro is only half a block, very convenient. Close to many restaurants, we particularly enjoyed Bearnaise(French/American).
The apartment was nicely equipped with the basic necessities, as well as some extras including coffee, tea and snacks as well as toiletries.
Marina was full of information about the area, and we enjoyed the chocolate she left in the foyer for us to enjoy.
Great rental for the two of us, I will most definitely try to rent this apartment should I visit DC anytime soon.

  • My mom and I stayed in Marina's apartment for four nights and had a wonderful time. The apartment was literally steps from the Capitol and Library of Congress. Getting around on the Metro was easy and the Capitol South stop was a five minute stroll down D St. (less than two blocks!)
We arrived early in the morning and Marina was kind enough to meet us and let us stow our luggage in the foyer until we could officially check in. Marina has a binder in the apartment with maps and brochures, and was also very helpful the first day with tips on getting around the city. The keyless entry made coming and going very simple.
I recommend renting this apartment with someone you don't mind sharing a bed with, as the couch is not very comfortable. Since I was with my mom, this was not really a problem. The bed is VERY comfortable and soft with ample blankets and pillows. The kitchen and bathroom were newly renovated and lovely. There were plenty of towels and washcloths, and Marina also provides shampoo, conditioner, and body wash if you don't want to bring your own. The kitchen is stocked with cups, plates, silverware, coffee maker, and french press, as well as pots and pans (email hidden) if you want. We were well equipped to make a little breakfast, however someone trying to make a big dinner may be left wanting in terms of cookware and utensils.
Overall, we had a great time. The apartment was lovely, the host kind and accommodating. I would DEFINITELY stay there again if I was going to visit DC.

  • Staying at this fabulous apartment was such a wonderful, memorable aspect of our trip to D.C.. The apartment was a significantly better alternative to renting an expensive hotel room. Upon arriving we met with James who gave us some dining tips and was very pleasant. The apartment is spacious enough that we returned every evening after a day of sightseeing to just hang out and relax before going out again for dinner (sitting in front of the warm fireplace after a chilly/rainy day was heaven). The Capitol South Metro station is VERY close and is only a few stops away from all the museums and sights on the Mall. The neighborhood is adorable and features a ridiculous amount of restaurants. We just *LOVED* staying at this apartment and I hope to stay here again on any future trips to D.C. Highly recommended. :)

  • The apartment was very clean and had all the things I needed for a pleasant stay.

Location is great for Capitol (4 block) and Metro (1 block).

  • This was our first Airbnb experience!

We were delighted that using Airbnb instead of a conventional B&B or hotel gave us the space and privacy we wanted, and we weren't restricted to only one room! The location of Marina's apartment suited us perfectly with its proximity to the Capitol and especially the Library of Congress buildings. All the main and Smithsonian museums and monuments are within walking distance.

The apartment was spacious, comfortable, good hot gas fire (in the coldest winter in DC for a few years) and well equipped. Marina was on hand to answer any queries we had.
