Cozy cabin by the Oslo fjord,Drøbak

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Kroklia, Frogn, Akershus 1440, Norway

The Space

This cabin with view of the fjord, is located only 10 min by car from the center of Drøbak (45 mins from Oslo).

Outside there's a spacious deck and a large uncultivated property. There's also a small porch outside the panoramic windows. The inside features a large living area with panoramic windows (facing south towards the fjord), a large couch, a fireplace and a sitting-group by the window with two smaller couches. The kitchen is small but functional with hot/cold water, refrigerator and gas stove. There is a freezer in a basement accessible from the outside. Two of the bedrooms have bunk-beds (2 per room) and the master bedroom features a queen-size bed. Just outside the living-room (accessible from the porch there is a small washroom with a sink, but no WC. There is an outhouse (latrine) on the property for the private matters :)

A secluded beach (with excellent fishing oportunities) is just a quick stroll from the cabin. There is also a large recreational area by the seafront in the centre of historical Drøbak.

This is a quiet cabin neigborhood in a lovely coastal forest area. It is not uncommon to see/hear Roe (deer), Mink and other forest animals, so don't get startled if you hear some rustling in the woods nighttime. :) There is no TV, internet, etc but the fireplace and the sunset is plenty entertaining on summer nights. There is also an outdoor fireplace integrated in the patio.

Drøbak is a typical cozy Norwegian coastal village with lushious gardens, small white houses and cozy alleys. It's not a bad place to spend an evening with a bucket of freshly boiled shrimps, a glass (or two) of white wine and a view of the sunset.

There's even a bar or two ;)

  • We loved our short stay at Havblick Cottage, as a Brit the outdoor WC and shower were a surprise but only added to a magical experience. Norway must be the most beautiful, cleanest and friendliest place we have ever visited.... why the would and the UK in general cant follow their lead is a mystery!!

Thanks again for the use of the cottage.

  • It was a very nice experience surrounded by nature with forrest and fjord in Hilde's house. She was a super nice host. My little boy really enjoyed being away from all the busy cities playing with rope swing hung down from s tree. I wish I could be back one day!

  • Very charming cabin within short drive to charming Drobak. Quiet and peaceful with wild blueberries for harvesting all over the property. A short drive to a swim in the fjord!

  • We stayed 5 days at Hilde's cabin "Havblikk" and we had a great time there. A cosy and really calm place to relax, go to the beach, take walks in the forrest and to have breakfast on the balcony with an amazing view to the fjord. Hilde and her family were so helpful and easy-going with everything we needed.
We can highly recommend that nice place!

  • A really nice little cabin in a very beautiful forest area with the cleanest air I've probably ever breathed. It has a great living room with a fireplace and a lot of seating places and 3 separate bedrooms. Bay shore is within walking distance and the bay itself is visible right from the terrace - perfect picture to start your morning with.
Hilde and her family were very nice and helpful and provided us with all the necessary directions even though we never got to meet them in person:)
To all future guests - consider renting a car for your trip, the taxis are crazy expensive and there are no shops in the immediate area. Other than that - this is a highly recommended location for a holiday.

  • Our family enjoyed our time at Havblikk! It is exactly as described and we truly enjoyed coming back to the cabin after our days in the city. It was quiet and peaceful! We enjoyed the evenings by the fire and the view of the water.

The surrounding natural beauty of the land gave a great place for our kids to wander and explore. Thanks for the rope- swing! They loved it!

  • So brilliantly i dont even want to review it to the public :)

Aboslutely amazing. Forget all your troubles here, take a walk into the forrest or walk down to the pristine waters to swim or fish, and they do bite. Had fresh fish for dinner two nights in a row.

Perfectly little haven in a perfect country

  • We loved Hilde's cabin. We had terrible weather but it really made the fire even more cozy. We sat by the fireplace, reading, and looking out on the water and it was so relaxing! We enjoyed walking down to the beach and around Drobak. The spring vegetation and the birds singing were really refreshing. I agree with the other review that this is a great place to go to enjoy nature in Norway while also being close to Oslo. The cabin is comfortable, cute, and relaxing. We would love to return for warmer or summer weather!

About
Hello, I`m Hilde! I live in a small community named Ärvika together with my husband, Svend-Inge. We are norwegian citizens, who moved to Sweden eight years ago. We enjoy travelling and meeting people from all around the world. Every summer we invite canoe campers to an informal summer cafè in our garden. Some of them even spend the night in their own tent here or down by the lake. This area is perfect for people like us who enjoy hiking in quiet landscape, enjoying silence, forest, lakes, flowers, fishing and a generous wildlife. Our cabin, which is listed here at this site, has much of the same surroundings. The biggest difference is that this cabin is located near to Oslo fjord (salt water). We wish you a warm welcome to our place in Arvika Sweden! :)
