Beautiful suite with bedroom, bathroom, balcony and a veranda overlooking the bay and the hills of Valparaiso. This suite is on the third floor of a restored house that is more than 100 years old and was built with red wood from Oregon and chilean oak at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a family home that include 4 generations and diferent nationalities.
In the morning we will bring the breakfast upstairs, so that you can enjoy the views while you get a good start into the day.
We are in a residential and quite area 5 minutes from the Naval Museum, the Artillery elevator and the 21st of May boulevard and only 10 minutes away from the historic harbour district with excellant fish restaurants and many bars. To the more touristic centers of Concepcion and Alegre hill it is a 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes with public buses.
There are several public transport options a few steps from the door of our house and for people who come in their own car we have a private parking place.
We offer walking tours, wine tours and visits to the museum of the chilean poet and Literature Nobel Price winner Pablo Neruda in Isla Negra, as well as excursions to the La Campana national reserve. We also provide maps and local tips and ideas to help you get the most from your stay in this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage City.
We expect your visit and will do our best to make you feel like home.
No se puede fumar dentro de la casa, soló en el balcón y el jardín.
Generous, friendly host, got someone to carry my heavy bag for me. Served wonderful breakfasts each day ans shared helpful resources. Convenient location, the bus system is cheap and efficient to get around.
Suite Mirador was a place you dream of - the perfect homebase for Valparaiso. Nina met us at the door with a smile and immediately found a cane for me to use during my stay as I had sprained my ankle a few days earlier. Then Kati helped my companion, Wes, carry the luggage up to the 3rd floor. The stairs might be a drawback for some but they were wide, solid wood, and had a strong bannister so I was able to do the climb just fine even with this hurt ankle. The place looks just like the pictures and the view of the rooftops, ocean, and surrounding hills is amazing. Nina also brought me some anti-inflammatory cream to use which really helped. Then Kati gave us tips on how to get to our first funicular without too much trouble. We stayed two nights and were treated to a lovely breakfast on the veranda each morning. On our 2nd day there, we hired Oliver, the owner, to take us on a tour of Valparaiso - well worth the money. Oliver is an expert on the area and gave us a very interesting, comprehensive tour as well as good tips on where to eat. In the mornings and evenings we left the door to the balcony and the windows on the veranda open to create a refreshing breeze. The reasonable price, the beautiful accommodations, the amazing view, and our wonderful hosts made Suite Mirador the perfect place to stay. I highly recommend this place and hope to return one day.
The suite is amazing! Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful and the room is exactly as perfect as the photos show. It made for an even more enchanting experience in Valparaiso.
The suite is absolutely stunning - just as it looks in the photos. Easy access to public transportation, a filling & tasty breakfast, and a very warm welcome from Nina (We did not meet Oliver, but he was very helpful in providing details on how to get to the house). Even with very limited Spanish, we were able to communicate with Nina and felt comfortable in the home. We had a hectic week of traveling around the country before arriving in Valparaiso, so being able to sit in the lounge area and just enjoy the incredible view was exactly what we were looking for.
One warning to light sleepers - on the weekends especially, you may have issues. There was a loud gathering near the house on the night we stayed until around 5 AM and the house is beautiful, but far from soundproof.
