Beautiful suite with bedroom, bathroom, balcony and a veranda overlooking the bay and the hills of Valparaiso. This suite is on the third floor of a restored house that is more than 100 years old and was built with red wood from Oregon and chilean oak at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a family home that include 4 generations and diferent nationalities.
In the morning we will bring the breakfast upstairs, so that you can enjoy the views while you get a good start into the day.
We are in a residential and quite area 5 minutes from the Naval Museum, the Artillery elevator and the 21st of May boulevard and only 10 minutes away from the historic harbour district with excellant fish restaurants and many bars. To the more touristic centers of Concepcion and Alegre hill it is a 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes with public buses.
There are several public transport options a few steps from the door of our house and for people who come in their own car we have a private parking place.
We offer walking tours, wine tours and visits to the museum of the chilean poet and Literature Nobel Price winner Pablo Neruda in Isla Negra, as well as excursions to the La Campana national reserve. We also provide maps and local tips and ideas to help you get the most from your stay in this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage City.
We expect your visit and will do our best to make you feel like home.
What a charming property in the Valpo hills. Nina and the family are absolutely welcoming and warm.
The views offered are second to none.
We had a wonderful stay at Suite Mirador! The view is truly amazing and the suite is clean and beautiful. Nina was incredibly helpful and gave us a lot of tips on what to see in Valparaiso. Overall a great experience that we recommend to anyone traveling to Valpo.
Cosy, clean, airy suite at the top of a classic home with great views over the harbour. This suite is the top floor of a family home, there is no door as such, the separation is just a flight of stairs, but we still felt independent and weren't bothered by any noise from the family below. We were looked after by the grandmother who was extremely charming and helpful despite our lack of Spanish and her lack of English - we got along with the help of (website hidden) translation app! She provided a good fresh breakfast and was always on hand to help if we needed it. The house is on one of the many hills in the town in a pleasant neighborhood and only 10 minutes walk down the hill to the docks/centre of town. We had a great three days here and felt very relaxed - the only slight challenge was finding a taxi to go into town in the evenings when it is not safe to walk through the dock area. Highly recommend the Wally (or walking tour 4 tips) tour on your first day - great introduction to the town taking you to parts you might not otherwise find.
Senora Nina at Suite Mirador Valparaiso was the perfect host with the perfect accomodations. Described by some as an attic, the room is more like a birds nest of stained glass and azure, with a 360' view of the hills of that port city. Nina spoke no English but was so animated in her descriptions of the local tourist hotspots that we had no difficulty finding our way around town. She walked up the 3 flights of stairs each morning to serve a pleasant breakfast of fresh bread, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese and meat with juice and coffee. The room was clean and airy with a fabulous breeze in the evenings.
Transportation is extremely accessible from right outside the house. All buses as well as a shared taxi service called the collectivo pass by the corner and head down to the city center. You'll never have to wait more than a minute or pay more than 550 pesos to get anywhere.
Her granddaughter is equally lively and welcoming to "turistas"!
Do not hesitate - this place is ideal.
Also, Nina collects Unicorns. Keep an eye our on your travels for a little momento to add to her collection.
Our experience was fantastic. Oliver gave us very helpful directions to their house before we arrived and Nina was their to greet us on arrival. The suite was clean and just as the pictures show, with an incredible view of the ocean and Valparaiso.
Nina was very helpful giving us directions and advising us on things to do. With our limited Spanish and her limited English we seemed to have some interesting conversations! Her breakfasts that she made us every morning were delicious!
Oliver gave us some great tips with a winery tour we were looking to take in Casablanca which worked out really well. It was so helpful having local knowledge of the area.
The suite is around a 10 minute walk to the central area of town and then a ride on a funicular to Cerro Conception where a lot of great restaurants and bars are. Alternatively you can get a shared taxi or 'collectivo' for around AU$1.50.
This is probably the most romantic room I have ever stayed in. 360 degrees views over the hills and sea. Beautiful house as well and a wonderful host. Worth the money!
The house is not downtown, there are buses and taxis, but if you like walking this is well to do. In about 20 min you are downtown (touristic area) and it is about 45 minutes to the bus station.
We had a wonderful stay at Suite Mirador. The house is beautiful, especially the suite upstairs -- the views were incredible, day and night! Lina was so kind and helpful, she even drew us a map by hand and gave us advice on how to get around the city and sights to see. She brought us a lovely breakfast and even helped us practice our Spanish. Her daughter Pilar was also wonderful and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
The views from the suite were amazing and the house felt so historical. The breakfasts were filling and had much more variety than a typical B&B. We were served fresh bread, avocado, cheese, meats, jam, butter, coffee, tea, juice. The house is located on a hill, but we found that walking to the historical part of town wasn't too difficult.
What a wonderful place to stay! The space is so charming and the view is fantastic. The old house has the warmth that comes from a family living in it, but you're on a floor of your own so you have plenty of privacy. If you speak Spanish, you'll find Nina, the grandmother of the house, extremely helpful for directions and advice and even history lessons. She also puts together a lovely little breakfast, delivered straight to your penthouse.
It's not the most central location, but for Valpo, that's really not a bad thing. The historic elevator up the hill was out of service when we were there, but once you get the hang of the buses and shared cars, you'll find abundant, relatively easy, and quite cheap transportation to the center of town in just 10 or 15 minutes.
It was a great stay in valparaiso! We felt very welcome and got helped with everything! Thanks a lot!!!
