Escape to a waterfront paradise in the heart of Silicon Valley! Grill from the deck, launch kayaks from your personal boat dock, sip wine and lounge at the fire pit table, relax under the outdoor shower, take a swim, or sink into the massage chair.
This is a special opportunity to try out waterfront living. Kayak from your personal boat dock to the Fish Market Restaurant. Go across the street afterwards for a cookie at Specialty's. Work off the calories by kayaking back home. It's environmentally friendly, good exercise, and most of all, fun!
Or simply enjoy the waterfront view from the top deck or from the fire pit table on the dock below as you enjoy a glass of wine.
The master bedroom sleeps two adults in a queen sized bed, while the second bedroom sleeps an infant or toddler in the convertible crib/toddler bed. The living room sleeps two more adults on a pull-out leather couch that turns into a full sized bed. At a pinch, there is another couch that could sleep an adult, although this is not recommended for long stays.
This single family attached home is part of an HOA which includes access to two gated pool complexes, a gym, a sauna, a gated picnic area with BBQ grills, and a basketball/volleyball court. The main pool complex also includes public restrooms and showers, a sauna, and a kiddie pool. The second pool complex includes public restrooms and a kiddie pool.
Interaction with Guests
If we are in town, we love to meet our guests. Our property manager may be available to welcome you. We like to have at least a phone call or (website hidden) with our guests prior to the stay to ensure that everything meets or exceeds your expectations.
Our direct vicinity is a private cul-de-sac with a mix of young families with small children and retired couples who all share a passion for waterfront living. The community is upscale, with Porsches, Mercedes, and BMWs parked on many neighbors' driveways.
At the intersection of 101 and 92, we are in the heart of the Bay Area. Virtually any major destination point is within a 25-30 minute drive, including:
Half Moon Bay
Oakland / Berkeley

DOWNTOWN SAN MATEO
Downtown is only a 7 minute car ride away, and I've actually walked to downtown from the house (~45 min). Second, Third, and Fourth Avenues are lined with a panoply of restaurants offering every possible ethnic cuisine imaginable, as well as boutique shops, a Century movie theater, coffee shops, and local bookstores. Go explore!
There is a Caltrain stop in downtown San Mateo which is a 7 minute car ride away. The Millbrae BART station is about a 12 minute car ride, and San Francisco Airport is about 15 minutes away.
Other Things to Note
There is a two car garage, but our cars will be in it. Parking for two cars is available on our private driveway, and across the street on the private road.
Guests will have access to the washer and dryer.
Hot tub is not working but you will have access to two pool complexes and a sauna.
No shoes permitted in the house. Our toddler and baby crawl on the floors so we keep everything super clean.
Absolutely no liquids or food anywhere near the grand piano.
No pets allowed. No smoking allowed. No parties.
This is a very nice home and Irvin works very hard to make you feel welcome. The view is nice and the house is very well equipped. The rooms are large. Irvin got a welcome basket of fruit for us, certainly beyond the call of duty. I strongly recommend this home.
However there is really only one bedroom which can be used by adults for sleeping. So if you have two couples, one couple will be sleeping in the living room.
The photos were glamorous and we were excited to stay there. When we arrived, it was even nicer than we expected! Amazing 2nd floor porch deck that overlooks the water. I took a conference call here during the day and it was the most relaxing place to work. In the evening we went down to the firepit and had whiskey and cigars for hours. So relaxing and calm. The rooms were great. Irvin was a great host and lots of easy communication prior to the trip. Even during the trip we had a question and Irvin responded quickly even though he was traveling out of the country! Great host, great place. Can't recommend it enough!
Irvin was very attentive and communicative both before and during our stay. He made sure our check-in went smoothly and all of our questions were answered promptly. The home was exactly as described and super clean which we greatly appreciated since we had our three children with us.
Our kids felt right at home thanks to the many toys and books that were left for us to use. The view from the balcony was beautiful and relaxing and the neighborhood was extremely quiet and peaceful. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our trip!
Everything about this place was perfect. Salt water pools, beautiful views, clean, friendly neighbors, great safe neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for more. Irvin was very friendly and super helpful. The location was perfect for our stay. We wanted to be in a nice quiet place and take trips to the city when we wanted. It was even better than I imagined. Thank you so much, Irvin!!
Irvin is truly a great host. He cares a lot about his guests. Before our trip, he called me no my phone and give me very detailed instructions about the house, like where to get the keys and how to contact the property manager etc. . He wrote a very detailed manual about the house and left a lot of tour books and guides, which was really helpful. Even though he wasn't around when I stayed there, he also sent messages to me and asked if everything was OK.
The house is simply awesome. It is right on the water with a spectacular view. It is quiet yet close to highways, so transportation wise it is very convenient. Irvin also kept everything extremely clean. It has a really nice home feeling. It also has a baby room which has a crib and changing pad, which is very convenient for us since we were traveling with a baby.
I highly recommend staying here if your are visiting the SF bay area!
Super accurate listing! Location was as stated - homey feel - amenities were as listed - access was good - and immaculate interior. Beautiful waterfront living was quite a different experience from a standard home - the saltwater lagoon out the back made for a very special trip. On the bonus side, our host Irvin left a very detailed house manual which we found very useful - especially details of the house, HOA amenities, and surrounding areas. We used the Weber grill to grill the fish we caught. Kayaks were there plus we had our PFDs, but didn't have the time to make a kayak trip down the lagoon. All was perfect except for we wished we had:
1. Access to the laundry machines during our stay as our beach outings were full of sand. I am still vacuuming sand out of the SUV.
2. Filtered water for the sink in the kitchen - had to buy bottled water but that was a minor issue.
Loved being a tourist for a week in Northern California using Irvin and Heidi's home as a base. Perfect home, great neighborhood, friendly neighbors, authentic description and Irvin was wonderful before and after booking.
Host was perfect in communications - answered every small question we had prior and during our trip. Would definitely return.
Thanks for your review, Pat! Just a couple quick responses: 1. Yes, the laundry machines are in the garage, and I'll think about whether to open that part of the house to future guests. But my current listing specifically notes that guests currently do not have access to the garage including the washer and dryer. 2. There is a Brita water filter that we use for the sink in the kitchen. It should be sitting on the kitchen counter. But perhaps I'll add a note to the house manual telling future guests about this.
Thanks for your detailed comments and observations. We'll definitely take your comments into consideration for the future.
