We live on the top floor of a townhouse (classic Brooklyn Limestone) with lots of natural light, located on a dead-end street in a lively, safe, and diverse neighborhood, just around the corner from Prospect Park, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and delis. The Q train subway stop is a 2-minute walk away.
We (myself and my 2 teenage kids) love to have guests and have welcomed visitors from all over the world for many years, and are happy to share tips on what to do and where to go in the city.

The space
The apartment is beautifully renovated and has an ethnic theme. I have traveled the world and always brought something back with me that is now on display in the apartment.
The space has great natural light and the apartment has an eat-in kitchen and a spacious living room. Each room is uniquely decorated. The private deck is great in summer. It faces a bamboo backyard and you can hear the birds chirping in the morning.
It's a three-bedroom apartment of which you would be occupying one bedroom and share kitchen, bathroom and living room with us.
We are right next to Prospect Park, which has tons to offer, from nature to culture to art.
Our neighborhood is very colorful and lively. Shops and restaurants are all within walking distance.

Neighborhood highlights

Great Caribbean food and vibe. Safe to come and go any time of the day/night. Just 2 minutes to beautiful Prospect Park, 10 minutes walk to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and zoo and a 30 minute walk or a short bus ride to the Brooklyn Museum. The beach is only 30 minutes away per train.
We are on a dead end street so there's no through traffic. Our block has a neighborhood vibe with a nice mix of people.
We have a great mix of traditional and new in our neighborhood. From African hair braiding salons and Santeria stores to hip bars, cafes and restaurants.

We are an easy-going, down-to-earth family, mom and two daughters, one who lives at home, and enjoy hosting friendly people. I am German and one of my kids is from South America, so German and Spanish are also spoken at home We love the outdoors, especially the beach, travel near and far, and living in Brooklyn. We also have 2 sweet doggies who love to have visitors and belly rubs.
