The Space

This listing is for a double bed in a guest room.
(separate listing for whole house rental). I have 'hidden' the single room from public view on Airbnb, but will consider adding in the single room if requested for a small extra charge.
** a minimum of 10% of the total cost for the room will go to support a KIVA micro-loan project, (website hidden) **
Our house is in an inner suburb locale, 10 minutes on tram to CBD or to beach. From airport, the taxi will take 10-15 minutes to our home. Taxi costs about $20-$25. Frequent buses along Anzac Highway out of city. A short walk to local shopping centre on Anzac Highway. Modern courtyard style home with modern conveniences. Delightful garden with fruit trees and vegetables beds offer a sense of sanctuary. Enjoy breakfast on the patio or a freshly made coffee at any time, and enjoy the sounds of the birds that visit the garden, and the park next door.
Access to broadband internet (wi-fi) at home by arrangement.
The living area is an open glassed area with dining, lounge and kitchen in one. A patio area has scope for entertaining under cover or just relaxing. Our house is close to the Main South Road, with easy access by car to the vineyards in McLaren Vale (south) or Barossa Valley in the north.
We have goldfish, four chooks, and no inside pets. The garden has automatic watering.
There is a guest toilet, separate guest bathroom with shower and bath, and a wash area with large mirror. Bed linen, towels and basic toiletries provided.
The house is single story - no stairs!
We are a friendly working couple, with experience in hosting people from many different countries.
Please respect no drugs, and no smoking inside during your stay.
I'm in the process of creating a blogsite with ideas for visitors. Adelaide has many attractions, listed in Lonely Planet's Top 10 to visit in 2014. But there are many attractions less well known. You might like to check out the blogsite for ideas: (website hidden)

  • Sandy and Geoff Boyce have been such a great host! My wife and I really had our best time in Adelaide and really appreciate to all the help, tips and hospitality that they had shown us. The room was clean and warm enough to make us stay and sleep well. Sandy even picked us up from the airport when we arrived, and sent us off to the airport again on our last day there before we're flying off back to KL. It was such a heartfelt feeling to be treated like you are welcomed to her home and country. We were so thankful that we found Sandy and Geoff Boyce and we couldn't thank them enough for what they had given us during our stay there.

  • Sandy and Geoff are very nice, friendly and helpful persons. We had good conversations during the provided breakfast (with excellent coffee from Geoff :) ) and really enjoyed our short stay in Adelaide! The house was comfortable and very clean. We highly recommend the accommodation!

  • This is what Airbnb is all about: Meeting a charming, welcoming, interesting and hospitable couple like Sandy and Geoff and staying at their beautiful and comfy home.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights but wished we had more time as we felt right at home and enjoyed Sandy and Geoff's company a lot.

Location: excellent for visiting various attractions and points of interest, including Adelaide Hills, the city and the airport.

Amenities: We slept well on the bed, which provides good back support; Breakfast with freshly laid eggs was a real treat; The living room and large screen tv were fun; The private bathroom and toilet (separate) were very convenient; We were able to park right outside the house.

There is no question we would like to stay with Sandy and Geoff again!

  • We stayed with Sandy for one very comfortable night while in Adelaide. The bedroom is very comfortable, and the kitchen is well appointed - what's even better is the fresh herbs and eggs from the garden.

Sandy and Geoff are wonderful hosts; we had a lovely discussion with them about Australia, and life in general. We highly recommend staying with them.

  • We had a very short visit with Sandy and Geoff of just one night. They were so accommodating as we missed our flight and were flexible with our arrival time, even though they had plans that evening. Sandy and Geoff are very hospitable hosts and we shared some interesting conversations together. The room was neat and tidy and the location close to the airport and train station, which was important to us as we caught The Ghan on Sunday morning. Sandy offered us fresh free range eggs from their chooks, with detailed instructions on mastering the art of poaching them, and an assortment of other breakfast items were available. We really enjoyed munching on our breakfast whilst sitting outside in their beautiful garden, which is a carefully tended organic wonderland. We were particularly touched by Sandy's kindness in preparing us a bag of goodies to take with us on our travels. This really was most unexpected and came in very handy. Thank you!

  • Sandy & Geoff were pleasant hosts and flexible in meeting our needs as we were in Adelaide for a family wedding, post wedding activities and out and about for much of the time. Their location was very convenient to most of our activities in the Glenelg area and we wish them well for a successful B&B future. Kind regards Des & Pene

  • Sandy and Geoff's place is cosy with a beautiful vegetable and herb garden in the backyard and is well located; it is only a five-minute walk to the tram stop or the bus stop. The host has been nice in welcoming me and giving me a quick orientation to the city. I had an amazing time at Writers' Week, Adelaide Festival and Fringe.
