Bliss on a budget
The quiet tropical setting is perfect for sleeping late after a busy day of activities in the area. It is a cozy two bedroom and two bath condo in the private residential area of Playacar. Lush common areas makes you feel like you are in a tropical oasis. Enjoy your morning coffee on the patio as gentle breezes refresh you.
Try the pedestrian walkway within Playacar for long walks or morning runs. A walk to town center is about 20 minutes. Taxis come and go at all hours from a nearby stop.
Spend the day at Playacar beach club or wander into town to shop and dine. But don't overlook nearby dining within Playacar. Great restaurants are just a short walk away.
And if you don't want to leave at the end of your vacation, we understand why.
Monthly rental rate does not include electricity. Readings will be taken on the day of arrival and departure and calculated based amount used for the period.
Please contact me before booking for details.
Electricity may be charged separately for the monthly rentals. Those details will be agreed upon before the reservation is accepted.
The reason we charge electricity separately or give a stated amount per period is to maintain low prices for the rentals. We have found that people are less likely to use excessive amounts of electricity when they are charged for it.
Please remember to observe the pool rules. No glass containers at the pool. Respect pool hours as as not to disturb the neighbors.
Dear Laura, the apartment is really practical, in a backyard on the ground floor with direct access to the pool, the neighbors are relaxed and easygoing (normal residents, no other travellers), and it is fairly quiet except for the weekend, when some people like to party hard and loud. Communication with Laura was fast and we managed to solve the problems coming up quickly. It was very sweet of her that we could stay a couple of hours longer on the day of our check out.
Have just returned from an enjoyable stay in Playa Del Carmen. We sourced our accommodation from Laura (Bliss On a Budget).
Initially we we booked into La Concha 2 condo, but following us advising Laura the accommodation was not satisfactory for our needs she could not have been more helpful in sourcing us an another condo that suited our needs right around the corner - she did this on a Sunday and really made the process of moving painless, giving instant full refund for first place and offering to pick us up to view the apartment and move our luggage.
We also had further questions during out stay and Laura proactively helped get answers to these for us when she often did not know the answer in the first instance, much appreciated.
I would use Laura service again if we stayed in Playa and would recommend her to and of my colleagues/friends if traveling to the region.
Laura was excellent! Communication was top-notch - fast and detailed. As other travel plans were unravelling, she made efforts to help, as best circumstances allowed. The condo was comfortable and clean. One room had issues with leaks from recent rain, so maintenance people were around, but not intrusive. No one else but us used the pool (it was small and comfortable - good to cool off and relax, not a place for sport or exercise). The walk to the beach through the development is about 35 minutes and not to be undertaken as an expedition (we had baby, grandma, etc...) But would be fine for adults or family with energetic kids.
The location in general is easy to get in and out of to go either south towards ruins (Tulum/Coba) or developed parks (Xcaret) or north to things closer to Cancun...
Shopping for groceries is convenient (Sorianas and Chadraui are both close to drive, two Oxxos are within the complex for snack runs.) There are a handful of eateries inside Playacar in easy walking distance. Small clusters of food and other shops are located adjacent to the two Oxxos and most handle both English and US Dollars / credit cards. Our luck finding restaurants outside the complex was restricted somewhat by our proximity to both Christmas and things being closed on Mondays...and our unwillingness to head to La Quinta with the baby and the rental car :). One place we tried to visit on three different occasions and were stymied by scheduling each time...
This is a nice and spacious apartment in a quiet neighbourhood. However the fact that it is on the ground floor means that it is dark - lights have to be on all day, and suffers greatly from damp. One room in particular had a particularly strong smell, and we couldn't leave clothes in the closet as they started to go mouldy. This wasn't helped by the air conditioning leaking into the bedroom and leaving puddles for the first 2 weeks of our stay. Despite the advert saying there was wifi, there wasn't any for the first 2 weeks and Laura did not offer any recompense for the amount of time and energy that we wasted trying to sort it out and money spent in internet cafes. Otherwise she was a great host.
