Feel free to stay as long as you like...we want our home to feel like home to you while you're here!
Guests may make use of the common areas--including front porch, sitting room and kitchen.
Come hang out at our guest house and wander Alberta Street...it's a cornucopia of funky and independent shops, galleries, bars & restaurants. We've got world famous pie, 5 kinds of Thai, an amazing tea shop, vegan bakery, co-op and guitar shop within a few blocks. Catch a flick at the Kennedy School or live music at the Alberta Street Pub or Alberta Rose Theater.
Every Last Thursday, we have a freewheeling art festival on the street. Last Thursday is a rich tradition where it's free to vend and attend. You'll see washboard bands, teen violinists, Native American drumming circles, fab art and funky attire right outside our front door!
We are on several major bus lines and one block from a designated biking boulevard. By car we are 10 minutes from the airport, Lloyd Center Mall, Convention Center and Light Rail and less than 15 minutes to downtown Portland.

Great host - clean, welcoming environment with friendly guests and comfortable lodgings. The host was easy to access and happy to help. Thank you!
Super comfortable. Super clean. Location is great. 1 min from Line 8 bus station, which goes to downtown easily.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Nice homey place in a good location, clean, quiet (even though it's on a major street). Rochelle is really nice, asked if everything was okay. She must have thought I was a little off, soft spoken, but I had gone snowboarding and had snow go down my ear...She was still patient. Glass studio out back, near eateries.
Due to me underbooking my primary Portland AirBnB on my final night, I had to reroute myself down the street the night before I was leaving back home. Rochelle was very quick to accomodate and left me instructions on how to get in. The house is in an awesome location, is secure, and is a cute place and well decorated. It being a hostel-like house, I was concerned about privacy but it was not booked up that night and I got upgraded to a larger bed. I was up and out pretty early and never actually met Rochelle, but there was a caretaker there who came to check in to make sure everything was okay.
such a great place to stay in Portland!!

About the Host, Rochelle
“Take only memories, leave only footprints.” – Chief Seattle
I've lived all over Portland, but once I landed in the Alberta Arts district that was it. Even in a city known for 'different', Alberta pushed the free- and forward-thinking envelope just a little bit further.
I've worn a lot of different hats over the years, but right now I'm drawn to the intersection where art, activism and the cooperative movement meet. I think the Alberta neighborhood is a great template where we might develop and model sustainable local urban living--I'd love to see food planted up and down the alleys, Alberta Street turned into a permanent walking/shopping boulevard. Cottage industry coops of all stripes, art everywhere!
I'm happy to open our house to the fabulous folk who find their way to us. What's your passion?
