Amazing stay with Pat and Kate! They were so sweet and their home is just beautiful. They have great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. They really made our stay in Killarney so special.
Pat and Katherine made us feel most welcome and treated us like old friends. Their house is even more beautiful than in pictures and their kindness matches all the lovely reviews before us. Pat welcomed us with coffee and gave us many tips on places to eat and visit. Every bit of advice was spot on. He even lent my fiance and I bikes so we could bike in the beautiful trails to Killarney village and back through the greenbelts surrounding the lake. The next day we followed his detailed 'advice' on how to best drive around the Ring of Kerry & where to stop. Could not have been better hosts!
We booked at the place for 3 nights in June 2015. We had an extremelly nice and friendly welcome which made us feel confortable from the start.
The room is spacious and decoration of very good taste with a nice wooden floor (no carpet !), nice furniture and a wide and clean bathroom. It is well worth the money, especially because they let you access the rest of their home, which makes me say that making money is not Pat's and Cath 's prime motivation.
On top of that, their breakfast is simply fantastic for 7 euros .. they could easily charge twice as much... ask for their homemade porridge with cereals, yogourt and fresh fruits.. not to mention the fresh orange juice...and the classical full Irish.
Not only Pat and Cath know very well the place and are of very good advice (for restaurants but also for places to visit) , but they would also do anything possible to make your stay enjoyable. They for instance let us use their personal (and very good) bikes, managed to customize plug adaptors for our french appliances, etc ...
They 've got 4 nice kids giving the impression of an harmonious and happy family in a very nice place. Definitely a place to stop (and to stay) at when coming to Killarney.
It was one of my best stay so far, Pat & Family make us feel home and provided all amenities we asked for. They also pick us up and dropped us every day wherever we wanted to go. The house was to a standard to any five star hotel. Over all in my views its one the best place to stay in Killarney.
Our stay with the Cliffords was spectacular! Pat and his family welcomed us with open arms, and from the moment we stepped through their door they did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Pat and Kate were great hosts, their children were very polite and friendly, and their dog, Missy, was the sweetest.
The house was breathtaking, both inside and out. The room we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated. And the bed was amazing, much more comfortable than that of any hotel we stayed in.
The house sits right on the Ring of Kerry and makes it a great spot for day trips in the area. Pat and Kate were willing to help us find places to visit and eat at in Killarney and the other nearby towns, and went so far as to offer us a prepared itinerary.
We were very grateful to have such wonderful hosts, and absolutely recommend their home to anyone visiting the beautiful County Kerry!
Pat and his wife Catriona (Kate) are absolutely outstanding. They went to every measure to make us feel completely at home including picking us up, dropping us off to the church for our friend's wedding and dropping us to the train station on our departure. Their house is absolutely stunning and a pleasure to stay in, a feat in itself given the immense quality and beauty of the nearby hotels. I have already offered Pat and his wife a free night in Dublin next time their in the East such was our mutual delight with their hospitality to us during their stay. Their daughter Ellen is a little pro and is an undeniable 'SuperHost' in the making already. Thank you Pat and Kate.
