Borne medieval brand new flat.

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Plaça de Sant Agustí Vell, Barcelona, Catalonia 08003, Spain

The Space

This flat is a nice mixture of modern and antique, it is in a medieval building in a beautifull Plaza San Agusti Vell, and the flat has been entirely renewed with all the compfort of new and stylish.
The kitchen is completely equiped, the bathroom has a shower and the room has a double bed with a huge window with all the day light, there is a living room with a t.v., a dvd player and a nice big couch to relax after a long walk in the city, wifi is provided as long as the linnen and the towels.
It's only 10 minutes walk to the Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya and 15 to the beach, the airbus takes 20 minutes to the Plaza Catalunya and 10 minutes walk to the flat so it's very easy to arrive here.
What makes my place special is that you DON'T need to use public transport to be in the heart of Barcelona, you just need to walk around and enjoy your stay!

  • I stayed at Jessica's place for a month. While the apartment is not as sun-washed as the photos, the apartment was clean with a new bathroom and kitchen. The furniture is fairly basic, the only thing really missing is a dresser, but the bedroom has a closet with a shelf. I like to take long, hot showers and the shower gets cool after about 15 minutes so if you are two people you may need to space out your shower time. The bed is not a double but rather 2 singles pushed together, but the mattress was comfortable. The apartment building has no elevator and it's about 20 steps or so to the first floor so keep that in mind if you have heavy bags or knee problems. The interior of the building is a bit rundown, which is offputting at first, but the apartment is new and has been fully refurbished. The apartment looks out on a small plaza, but since there are no cars allowed it is quiet during the day and especially at night. The location is perfect and very convenient, right in the heart of the Born and walking distance from many points of interest. The Picasso Museum was 10 minutes away as was Park Ciutidella. The Ramblas is about a 15 minute walk away. You are very close to some popular restaurants (Mosquito, Mundial Bar, Comerc 24) and the apartment is above a charming Italian restaurant. The Santa Caterina Market is a close 10 minute walk as well.

Jessica was a great host. She always returned calls right away and showed me a great place for croissants. There was construction going on in the building first thing in the morning and Jessica talked to the workmen and got them to start later in the morning, which was so appreciated. There were a few minor issues with the 2 apartments I was staying in and Jessica was helpful in resolving the issues quickly. We also had quite a laugh trying to figure out how to turn on the stovetop. Jessica was very caring and I would not hesitate to rent from her again.

  • I loved staying Borne medieval brand new (website hidden) Barcelona. This is definitely the best choice I made.
Note that the beds are too small (single beds) so if you are used to sleeping in a larger bed this may be a bit uncomfortable but I got used to it after the first day.
I highly recommend this to anyone who visiting Barcelona.

  • Great time was had at this flat of Jessica. Close to best spots of El Borne, walkable stretch to main downtown tourist spots, close to bus/taxi ranks which means it was a short trip or walk to the beach too. A lot goes on around the flat which is great for an exciting time but not for a long sleep-in. Would stay again if back in town. Giorgio.

  • Jessica is a kind and thoughtful host.
The home is located in a wonderful part of town, lots to see and do. It is comfortable, new, and has everything you need!

  • Jessica is a wonderful hostess; friendly, helpful, and immediately responsive to every concern. Dealing with her was the best part of staying in this apartment. The place itself was nice, but not as luminous and sparkling as it looks in the pictures, and I wish the air conditioner (a portable) had reached the whole apartment (the back room is just too hot in summer). However, the location is fantastic (both in terms of neighborhood amenities, and access to public transportation), and it's one of the few places in Barcelona that has virtually no traffic noise (also, the cafes in the plaza it overlooks close early, so no sound of drunken revelers either). It was also nice to have a quaint little restaurant just downstairs.

Lastly, the flat really is "medieval"--my cousin, an architectural historian, told me the large beam in the ceiling is original to the building, likely 14th century (so lots of personality!). In general, my experience was positive, and I think many travelers will enjoy this apartment.
