Simply awesome! Steven is such an amazing host always willing to help you and provide you with any information of this beautiful place. "Casa Amarilla" is exactly as described and seen in Airbnb, located in the middle of all recommended places to visit and pretty close to the airport; I really think you are going to love the swimming pool and all its spaces if you enjoy a quiet and full of nature space. Steven is willing to be included in your daily life as much as you want, and always respects privacy apart from having this excellent conversation topics. With no doubt this is a 5 Star service and for sure, I would go back if I had another chance.

Stevens house beautiful and the room is comfortable with a nice pool garden view. He is knowledgeable about the area and makes a lovely host. There is some noise with current construction but that cannot be avoided.

Steve's place is great! The room is perfect, clean, welcoming, private. Staying with Steve was one the highlights of our trip. Great guy, felt like we had known each other for a long time :) Always made us feel welcome and was super helpful. You won't regret staying here! Also, place is close to playa Carrizalillo and Rinconada. Thanks for everything, Steve!

Steven welcomed us into his beautiful Puerto Escondido home with open arms. We had a blast staying with him. We drank delicious mezcal, ate fantastic homemade pozole, stayed up late swapping stories, and spent our days listening to The Beatles while swimming in his crystal clear pool. Steven is a kindhearted, open-minded soul who truly knows the meaning of hospitality. Thanks for the good times, man. Life is good at Steven’s pad. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Steven is a fantastic host. To start with, when we arrived at night, we got lost. I called Steven for directions and he did one better and came and found us, then took us dinner at a great local place! Check in is easy and the room and accommodations are exactly as described. This was my first time using a private room in a home but I found Steven and his housemate Tony very easy to get along with. Tony even took us to the market as he is a chef and knows a lot about local cuisine and more. Morning coffee and evening Mezcal were perfect! The swimming pool is in pristine condition and you can spend your entire visit in it or you can go to several nearby beaches. The kitchen is well appointed and great for cooking and/or sharing meals which we did more than once. Steven is great at anticipating his guests needs and takes care of everything while still giving you all the space and privacy. It was an excellent experience and my husband and I would stay there again.

Our stay in Casa Amarilla was beyond all expectations. Steven was a super host, incredibly warm, welcoming and made us feel very at home from the word go. The house is beautiful, the room has a private bathroom and has doors opening out onto the pool. Everything we needed was provided including some surprise Mezcal tasting (Stevens own brand) which were the best Mezcals we tasted in Mexico. We were free to use the pool and kitchen whenever we wanted. We also took a Oaxacan-style cooking class (for an extra fee) with Tony (aka the Mexykan) who also lives at Casa Amarilla. It was the highlight of our trip and we would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Casa Amarilla or indeed Puerto Escondido and interested in food. The house is a taxi ride to the town centre (or 40 minute walk) but a taxi is only 30 pesos. It is however walking distance to some of the best beaches in the area and a number of nice restaurants. Our only regret is not staying longer. Highly recommended!

Steven's house is a piece of heaven on earth. He's kind, respectful and funny. The "master" bedroom has a lot of space, a comfty bed and the view to the pool is dreamy. The neighborhood is quiet and you can walk to the best restaurants and beaches from the house. My stay there was amazing, I'm def going back soon.

I came to Mexico in 2006 after owning and operating Sellwood Cycle Repair for 20 years in Portland, Oregon. Once here, I came across a mezcal producing village in the mountains of Oaxaca where families had been making the traditional beverage from a wild agave for generations. I soon found myself not only friends but in business with the producers and I now sell "Mezcal de Puta Madre" throughout México
