The back of our home includes six South-facing windows that provide the house with PLENTY of natural light throughout the day.
As travelers, we understand the importance of feeling at home while you're away. Our cozy Cincinnati Suite comfortably accommodates two. We also provide guests with all the comforts they would expect to find in their own home, including: cable television, wireless internet access, a very comfortable full-sized bed, a closet for ample storage, private full bathroom, and a private entrance to our home.
Besides your own private full bath and entrance, guests will have access to laundry facilities located on the same floor as the suite, our newly renovated kitchen (and grill, if interested), our patio/garden, and the common area living room (with large flatscreen and comfy couch).
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction with our guests completely depends on what they feel comfortable with. While we will be present during the stay, we can make ourselves as available or scarce as you would like. We do have a large amount of knowledge regarding the area so we are always an available resource for information should you need it.
We do have two VERY friendly cats and two very social puppies. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO CATS, we will no longer accommodate pet allergies - simply put, our animals are a part of our family.
Our home is located just minutes from two of the city's most happening neighborhoods, Over-The-Rhine and the Central Business District. These neighborhoods offer two distinctly different vibes which give guests a plethora of entertainment options!
OTR is a great spot to check out local restaurants and bars, retail shops, and live events! There is something going on every night of the week in this neck of the woods. Some of my personal favorites include: Yoga on the Green @ Washington Park, Bakersfield's Margaritas, and Neon's patio.
If you're looking for a high-energy, vibrant city experience then the Central Business District is where you'll want be. Known for their fantastic restaurants and late-night entertainment, dinner and drinks usually turn into a great party! If I were you, I would check out: Nada's brunch, the 21c rooftop Cocktail Terrace, and the calendar of events @ Fountain Square!
Don't forget that Cincinnati is home to the Reds and the Bengals! There's no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than at Great American Ballpark cheering on the Redlegs!
We are also a short drive to Riverbend, Cincinnati's premiere concert venue! Check to see if your favorite artist is playing during your visit.
While everything is within a short walking distance, we understand that walking is not suitable for every occasion (or pair of shoes). We suggest taking a cab (Uber and Lyft are great options), or borrowing one of our bicycles. There are a number of bus stops in the area, but depending on your destination they may add some time to your trip.
We offer private, off-street parking for your vehicle during your stay. If you are traveling from the airport, we suggest that you use take an Uber or Lyft!
A great feature of our location is that we live two blocks from a MegaBus stop! So if you have a couple days to spare, it is a great option for quick day trips to places like Indianapolis!
Other Things to Note
Traveling with a furry friend? We are happy to accommodate you AND your pooch (as long as they get along with our very social puppies, Emra and Milo)! We are happy to offer a large, adjustable kennel, food/water bowls, and a small yard. We also live three blocks from a fantastic dog park! OTR is a very dog-friendly neighborhood. Note: if you are interested in bunking with your fuzzy buddy, we do ask that you share a copy of their vaccination records.
We only ask a few small things of our guests:
1) Our pets are our family, if you suffer from severe dog or cat allergies please do not torture yourself by staying here.
2) We work hard to provide our guests with everything they need, please be courteous and respect our home and family.
3) We do not allow smoking.
4) Communicate with us. If there is something you need to address, please feel free to talk to Paul or I and we will do our best to take care of the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Our pass-through style breakfast bar is a great place to sit and socialize with the chef in the kitchen.
Very nice place to stay while in Cincinnati! The down stairs bedroom and bathroom with its own entrance and a place to park is perfect. It also has everything you need. We never met Shelby and PJ but we were nicely welcomed by the two cats. They kept us company the little time we were at the house. Minor disappoint that the owners did not respond to one of my messages, never checked in on us to see how we were, or if we needed anything. Ultimately, we were fine and it was the middle of the week. I'm sure they were busy with their owns jobs and life. Overall, we were pleased with our short stay. Be sure to pin where you are from on their map. Very cute idea!
Shelby and PJ were great hosts, so great that only five minutes after meeting them I had a beer in my hand. The neighborhood was close walking distance to great food, safe and quiet. A private entrance made coming in and out easy. The room was comfortable and we had a private bathroom. Very clean and we made friends with their cat. I'd highly recommend staying here.
Shelby and PJ have a great little set-up. It's as private as you want it to be, as you have your own entrance that goes right into the cozy little room, and a bathroom is right across the hall. I popped out and said hi to Paul, who was friendly and eager to offer restaurant and brew suggestions. The location is close enough to the action to walk to it, if you're a walker like me (about a 10-15 minute jaunt). Highly recommended.
Shelby was the perfect hostess! She told us all the best places to eat and visit while we were in Cincinnati. She left us a free all-star baseball game ticket, and she let us do laundry there. She was kind and understanding even when we let her cat escape by accident. The location is perfect walking distance to lots of different things. Plus, Stella, the cat, will treat you like family. If my husband and I ever travel to Cincinnati again, we'd love to stay here again. :)
Shelby & PJ's place in the Betts-Longworth Historic District is a hidden gem! Within walking distance to everything Downtown Cincinnati, and if you're adventurous even over the Purple People Bridge to Newport, KY. If you have a car, even better! You're able to park in the back driveway as long as you're staying there. You have your own private entrance in the back that goes right into the bedroom. Bathroom is right around the corner, and you're welcome to use the common living room area upstairs. You can interact with the hosts as much as or little as you need, but know this. They are both very helpful and will assist with whatever you need. Their cats and dogs are part of their family so know that. One of the cats will even be your best friend and like to spend time downstairs. If you're not into pets or are allergic, you may want to look elsewhere.
I can't say enough positive things about Cincinnati's Suite Spot. I will definitely be back!
Shelby and PJ had everything set up as advertised. Clean, neat, and small but tidy BR and bathroom. Very friendly black cat! Near downtown for easy 10-15 minute walk to work and also only 5 mins from OTR with great restaurants.
My husband and I were moving cross country with our cat and had a great stay at Shelby & PJs! The room and bathroom is very clean with all amenities included. We were hoping our cat would become buddies with their super cute and friendly cats, but our cat was being shy. Didn't have a chance to meet PJ b/c of his work hours, but Shelby was very welcoming and friendly. Excellent location - walkable to OTR, downtown, and the ballpark (we went to a game).
About the Host, Shelby & PJ
WE thoroughly enjoy listening to live Bluegrass music, eclectic food and drink , and spending time with our friends. PJ owns and operates a food truck in town called Hungry Bros - there's a good chance you'll see him out and about on the weekends! Shelby is a local REALTOR in the area and would be happy to answer any questions about neighborhoods, income property opportunity or relocation options. We were both born and raised in the Cincinnati area and recently relocated Downtown. Since our move we have discovered so many new and wonderful things about the growing culture in our beautiful city. We spend most of our weekends exploring and enjoy sharing our experiences with others.
