The space
This charming traditional Saba cottage was built in 2007 yet anyone walking by would think the home is one of the original Saba homes. The exterior of the home follows the traditional Saba gingerbread style while the interior is modern and spacious. The older homes on the island are small in comparison with low ceilings, tiny rooms and electricity as an after thought. So if you wish to experience a true Saba cottage yet have all the conveniences of a newer well designed home, Hibiscus Cottage is your best bet. Guest have three areas to sit and relax. The large front covered porch is ideal as well as the side garden area with table off the kitchen for alfresco dining.

I was lucky to be born and raised on the island of St. Maarten. My father comes from the small French town of Grand Case. He moved to the Dutch side at an early age and later in life met my mother who had moved down from the US to work at a hotel on the island. My grand parents had sold everything in Connecticut and moved the family to the island in the 60's to open Mary's Fancy Plantation hotel. Back in those days it was the place to stay. I attended American University in Washington DC and love the lifestyle St. Maarten allows.
