about my city :
Dasara, a traditional celebration of the old Kingdom of Mysore, is the state festival and is celebrated with great vigour.
Bangalore is known as the Garden City of India because of its greenery and the presence of many public parks, including the Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park.
The city celebrates its most important and oldest festival, "Karaga Shaktyotsava" or Bangalore Karaga. Deepavali, the "Festival of Lights", transcends demographic and religious lines and is another important festival. Other traditional Indian festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Ugadi, Sankranthi, Eid ul-Fitr, and Christmas are also celebrated.
Bangalore is home to the Kannada film industry, which churns out about 80 Kannada movies each year.
Bangalore is also a major center of Indian classical music and dance. Classical music and dance recitals are widely held throughout the year and particularly during the Ramanavami and Ganesha Chaturthi festivals. The Bengaluru Gayana Samaja has been at the forefront of promoting classical music and dance in the city.
The city has a vibrant English and regional language theater scene with organizations such as Ranga Shankara and Chowdiah Memorial Hall leading the way. Bangalore is also sometimes called as the "Pub Capital of India" and is one of the premier places to hold international rock concerts.

The stay was completely hassle free, thanks to the hospitality of Mrs and Mr Lobo.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return during our next trip to Bangalore.
I had a very comfortable stay at Minna ' s place on Cline Road. Both Minna and her husband were extremely courteous and I felt like I was at home the entire time. Their place is conveniently located in Cooke Town and provides easy access to all areas of the city.
Extremely nice place in a peaceful area with such a welcoming couple. Lovely !
I stayed with my family at 'Home away from home' for 4 days. The place really lives up to its name. The moment we reached there, the hostess (Mrs. Lobo) was waiting right there at the gate. The whole first floor was for us- so, complete privacy was assured. The rooms are maintained well- matching with the pictures provided in the site. The locality was quiet and near to Bangalore CBD (M G Road). We got all help from the hosts- be it arranging a taxi or home delivery of food. On the last day of our stay, Mrs. Lobo treated us with homemade cake- which was really great. In future if I'm planning a vacation in Bangalore again- I'm definitely going to consider this place again.
The Lobos have a very cozy house in one of the nicer residential areas in Bangalore. I got the entire top floor, with a private entrance, 2 bedrooms with cupboards, all the required kitchen appliances, living room with cable tv and a neat bathroom with hot water. I also had access to the large balcony in the back, where the washing machine and clothes lines are placed. You can access wifi for Rs. 50 a day. Safe (police patrolled) neighborhood + lots of locks = security!
Mr. and Mrs. Lobo are one of the nicest couples you will meet. They were kind enough to offer me some of the fresh avocados that grow in their backyard and made me delicious appam one day. There have been a lot of guests from around the world who have stayed here. So they know their airbnb demographic quite well.
Our stay with Mr. and Mrs. Minna Lobo was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay with them . Hope to stay with them again. Thank you for your hospitality.
Minna and her husband Wally were fantastic. They were very helpful whenever we needed them, and made sure we had everything and all the information we needed to have a great time in Bangalore. The top floor apartment is very spacious and clean. Hot water and comfy beds! The best part was the avocado and pomegranate trees over their patio which Minna and Wally shared with us. They are well located at about a 10 minute rickshaw ride to the central MG Road Area, and probably the best value for money for anyone visiting Bangalore. We would love to be back some day.
About the Host, Minna
I live with my husband on the ground floor of our small bungalow. The guest house is on the first floor with a separate entrance and is quite independent. My three sons are married and live in the USA with their families. We both worked in the Middle East most of our life and retired and came down to Bangalore.
