Visit Washington DC and live like locals in a residential neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia - GREAT LOCATION (three minute walk to bus that takes you to Ballston, Clarendon, Rosslyn, Arlington Civic Center, and a ten minute walk to the connector bus to Pentagon Metro and Pentagon City Metro stops on the way to downtown Washington D.C.)
I live in Arlington, Virginia (near Shirlington) a suburb of Washington, DC. I have a THREE BEDROOMS listed on Airbnb - one listing for each bedroom with calendar availability. All are in the same Colonial Home in Arlington. You will have your own private bedroom with queen size bed. Master bath with shower and tub down the hall (may have to share bathroom depending on status of second bedroom). Giant cable TV and WiFi available in bedroom! Access to kitchen and downstairs family room. Patio with grill for evening fun. Street parking available for car. Walking distance to multiple bus lines. Laundry facilities in basement.
I work with local rescue groups, so there will be multiple dogs in the house. (Sometimes there are cats in a cat condo.) You have no obligations to the dogs, but are more than welcome to take one for an evening walk or morning run. The dogs are not allowed in the upstairs bedrooms available for rent.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you!
Lisa was a great host for the week. Her dogs were a fun addition and a nice welcome home at night. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I will plan to stay again when I am back in the area.
Lisa is very friendly and laid back. She's willing to offer advice about the area and help you out, or just leave you alone if that's your preference. I had lived in the DC area before and was back for a conference, so I was out quite a bit and did not spend much time at the house or interacting with Lisa, but she was always friendly whenever we did cross paths.
Lisa was very hospitable and welcoming! The room was tidy and we had a very good stay in Arlington! She did have rescue dogs, however she warned us about them ahead of time in case we did not want to stay in a house with a few dogs, which was very considerate of her. We would stay here again.
Lisa was a really great host - very welcoming and thoughtful (she left waterproofs and umbrellas out for us when it was raining).
The room is large and comfortable, just as it looks in the pictures and the bathroom is big too. Everything was perfectly clean. We were lucky enough to have half of the top floor to ourselves as no-one was staying in the other guestroom, making our stay really private. We didn't hear any noise from the dogs from our room all stay as they're kept on the opposite side of the house, also the neighbourhood is so quiet.
It takes about 45mins on average to get into the centre of DC using public transport, so as long as that doesn't bother you it really is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended - thanks Lisa!
It went very well, she was very friendly, and made sure we were comfy, she even gave us our own key so we could come and go as we please! She also allowed me to do my laundry too which was nice of her, She has lots of dogs but I only ever saw one which was jack the rest are out the back, I'd recommend anyone to stay here, thanks Lisa
Thank you for hosting me for the Inauguration.
We had a great time at Lisa's place. The dogs were adorable and quiet at night. We had several places to see in Annandale and Arlington, in addition to downtown DC, so it was a great home base for us.
I had never used airbnb and I was not sure what to expect from renting a room from someones private home. I have to say that Lisa made my first trip to VA & DC so comfortable and enjoyable. Her dogs do bark once you first enter the front door but I didn't hear them at all after (email hidden) fact the dogs do not have access to the upstairs. My room and bathroom were spacious and clean and I appreciated the warm blankets she supplied me with since I am used to the warmth in SFL. The house was charming and she even gave me a drive into the city on her morning drive to work. She is genuinely a sweet person and you can tell not only by the way she treats people but how she fosters and cares for her dogs in need.
Lisa was very nice. I really appreciate her accepting my request very last minute. Parking was easy and she had a permit ready for me when I drove up. The room was comfortable. She's not kidding when she says she has lots of dogs :) I am totally in aww of her dedication to these sweet animals, but I do have to tell you the smell did get to me a little bit, I bought some air freshner for the room and that helped. All in all I would recommend staying with Lisa.
The room was very nice, and indeed private. Lisa was a wonderful host. Place is not that far from DC, and in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend.
