This is part of our fundraising efforts in combination of Kalawai’s room. This room we only use when Kalawai’s room is booked. The bathroom is shared with us in the house…
All the proceeds of this room go towards the children’s education and Stand Up Paddling events…See kalawai’s room for extra information.
By staying with us, you now become an official sponsor of Kalawai, Josie and Alex since I have set up a company that focuses on entertainment and sports management. By staying with us, you automatically become a sponsor and with your donation to the room this is classified as sponsorship and therefore you are automatically our guests as official sponsors.
The room was exactly as listed and easy to find. Clare was a gracious host and was awesome to talk to. Would definitely stay again.
I felt very welcome at Clares house. It was a very pleasant stay and definitely would recommend it!!!
Clare was an amazing host. She made me feel so welcome and knows so much about the island. I'm leaving Molokai now with friends. The house is located centrally and convenient to town and the ocean. My accommodations were clean and comfortable. I recommend going out on one of Clare's tours, she is a skilled guide and you will feel safe out on the water with her. Remember to slow down when you're here :) Molokai is a beautiful island and I can't wait to return.
Clare und Alex waren sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Sie halfen uns immer weiter, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Sie haben ihren Alltag und ihr zu Hause mit uns geteilt.
Clare was amazing. We arrived a bit later and she attempted to get a hold of us, every which way she could, because we had lost reception. Clare and her beautiful kids were extremely welcoming. The room was nice and clean and we both got a wonderful nights rest, perfect for our hike the next morning. Even before we left, she made sure we had everything we needed. When we come back, we hope to stay with her again!
We really enjoyed our days at Clare's place and we enjoyed Molokai.
Clare and her two lovely kids let us use their house and terrasse even when they were not at home during the day. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable - we spent our time there only for sleeping.
The house is close to the (small) 'center' of Kaunakakai, but you really need a car to see the Island. When I come back to Molokai, I would definitly contact Clare again.
Thanks Clare, Josie & Alex for letting us stay in your house!
Clare and her family are amazingly nice and accommodating, truly. Even though I did not end up in the room I thought I was going to be in, Clare was very kind and hospitable about sharing her home and space with me. She was very attentive and solicitous. I was very glad to help sponsor her kids' education and goals, and with a little more upkeep, I think this would be an excellent place to stay again on my next visit. Thanks so much!!

Clare Seeger Mawae was Britain's Number 1 Lady windsurfer on high performance boards from 1981 to 1990. She was the first Briton (male or female) to win a World title, becoming in 1985 the Amateur World Champion. In the 1986 professional World Cup circuit she finished 4th.
Clare was born in Singapore in 1965. She has lived here on Molokai for the past 17 years.
Prior to this Clare was a World Class Champion in the sport of Windsurfing. For 12 years she dominated the British windsurfing circuit with ten National Titles, part of the 1981 Olympic windsurfing squad, a world title in 1985 and the first British Windsurfer to get an overall world title.
She has been ranked 4th overall and 3rd in the slalom on the professional world circuit in 1986, four Hawaii State slalom titles and retiring as US National Slalom Champion in 1993.
Clare has won international pro events around the world and has always been considered as a world class competitor.
Prior to her windsurfing career, Clare was the youngest finisher of Britains first London Marathon in 3hrs and 49 mins, with only 6 weeks of training at the age of 15. Clare competed in running, snow skiing, swimming, biathlons, triathlons(swimming running and pistol shooting), and sailing events in the International Cadet, Firefly and the Olympic 470 class.
Clare's love of the outdoors was at a tender age of three, with camping expeditions in the Malaysian jungle, driving overland from Calcutta, India, back to England at the age of six, and celebrating her birthday by roaming the hills of Afganistan.
Holidays with her family would be walking in the English countryside and sleeping under stars, spending a Christmas on top of Ben Nevis (Britain's highest mountain) testing out mountain equipment, exploring the regions of Oman especially the Jebal Akdar, the Basque mountain region in Northern Spain, camping on skiing holidays, exploring the European Alps in the summer and skiing them in the winter.
Clare has since settled down on Molokai for the past 17 years, raising her two daughters and her son. One of Clare’s focus and energy now is in Molokai Outdoor Activities. Her main goal is to create a friendly, helpful and courteous business to assist the visitor who wants to find a unique and cultural experience in the Hawaiian Islands. This goes hand in hand with the non profit foundation Youth In Motion that she set up for Molokai Youth.
In addition Clare is now fundraising for her three children, Kalawai for her education and music, and Josie and Alex with Stand up Paddling…. The rooms in our home is all about creative fundraising for the kids..
Although Clare is not from Molokai, her three children are half Hawaiian and both have Molokai roots, and all three have and are immersed in the Hawaiian language and culture. So please come and enjoy our creative fundraising efforts by staying in our home.. We hope that you like many other guests over the years will be pleasantly surprised with your visit to Molokai…..
