Bio Chic Cabin in the Redwoods

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Redwood Rd, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States

The Space

Our cabin is situated in the beautiful Corralitos Redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains. Where you are surrounded by nature at its best. Our house is located in a small mountain community of the Santa Cruz mountains called Corralitos. Corralitos, is a well know cycling hub, as well as an up and coming wine country. After a wonderful and rigourous ride, or day of wine tasting stop at the Corralitos Meat & Sausage Market for some of the finest smoked meats around.

There are numerous wineries within 5-10 min and we are only 30 min away from the Santa Clara Wine Valley. Our property is 20 minutes to the closest beach including Manresa and Sunset State Beaches. We are 30 minutes away from downtown Santa Cruz and the Beach Boardwalk as well as the Mystery Spot. We are located 25 minutes from Capitola Village and Historic Watsonville. Monterey and Cannery Row are 45 minutes South and Big Sur is about an hour South. There are 3 golf courses within 15-20 min and Pebble Beach and Carmel are within an hour. We are 45 minutes away from San Jose and an hour and a half away from San Francisco. We can set you up with what ever amenity or information you may need to make your stay more enjoyable.
We are also 15 minutes from the wetlands that are famous for bird watching and nice strolls

This cabin is a small studio that contains a queen size bed, a mini fridge, microwave, large toaster oven, hot plate, and crock pot. And a sofa bed that can accomodate two. It has a nice bathroom that contains a stand up shower and a dry composting toilet from Biolet, which we clean throughly before and after each guest.

There is space to relax and BBQ outside to enjoy the scenery. The cabin is completly separate from the main house and we will leave you alone for the duration of your stay unless a request is made. My family has lived on our property for over 30 years and we are more than knowledgeable about the surrounding area.

Though we ourselves have dogs we ask that you please leave your pets at home. You may want to have a car as there is no close public transportation.

If alone time and some good ole' peace and quiet is what you are looking for then our cabin is the place for you.

  • The cabin was just what we needed! Everything was clean, little (very useful) snacks came with the room, the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the vinyls that were in the room. Tucked nicely away in the redwoods, we had a great time! Thank you Suncere!

  • We had such a relaxing time at this cabin. Sunny is a great host. It was like a cozy family sleepover. We ordered pizza, roasted s'mores and watched a movie. All while surrounded by the majestic forest and nothing else. Our son also loved running around the property and meeting Sunny's sweet dog Kaki. :D

  • My wife and I had a great time here. It is very quiet and peaceful. We met the family that owns the cabin and they were extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating. Thanks for the wonderful weekend.

  • This cabin is great for a wilderness retreat! You will be surrounded by a peaceful forest, with an outdoor fire pit to accompany your late evenings listening to the owls. There was a well-stocked kitchenette with snacks, coffee, tea, and even wine! The Castro's were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and we can't wait to visit again for a longer stay.

P.S. The friendly dog Khaki will be more than willing to accompany / guide you on the hiking trails around the area.

  • We so enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean and comfortable. They even stocked it with some snacks and food. The only one who had a problem with a composting toilet was the teenager but she quickly realized it wasn't bad, just different. Suncere was quick to respond to any of our questions and needs. Her mother and father were warm, friendly and welcoming. Just wish we had more time to visit with them all and to explore the property more. The redwoods are amazing! Next Time!!

  • Suncere's cabin is amazingly situated up a long private road. Stepping outside in the morning is literally like waking up in the middle of a primeval forest. The area was very quiet, the cabin itself well stocked, and we had a lovely hike right nearby. Thanks!

  • The cabin was the perfect getaway spot. It's very quiet, secluded, and the forest is beautiful. I am definitely staying up there the next time I am in the area. It was close enough to things to do in Santa Cruz while at the same time far enough to take a break from the city life. The amenities were perfect for what I was looking for and I prepared for it well by shopping right. I had a blast doing a bit of hiking and exploring. And the forest itself is breathtaking.

  • The cabin was exactly what we were looking for! A quiet hideaway in the Redwoods with all the comforts of home. The cabin is clean and has all the basic amenities. No full stove or oven, but there's a toaster oven that met all of our needs Built a campfire and enjoyed curling up and watching movies. Loved the composting toilet. Water pressure left something to be desired, but everything else was wonderful! Although we didn't get a chance to meet the Castro Family until we were leaving they were wonderfully warm and very accommodating.

Hi my name is Suncere but most people call me Sunny. I teach Special Education at our local high school. I love sports and played college softball. I have lived in the Monterey Bay area all my life, minus my four years in college. My family has resided at our current residence for over 35 years and we couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I am very knowledgable about the area and what it has to offer. I love the city I live in, Watsonville and think this area is one of the most beatiful places on earth. Where else can you go from snow to beach in less than 30 min?
