Clara's apartment is very well positioned for a short stay. We flew into Charles de Gaulle and easily managed our luggage on the RER and Metro to arrive at Marcadet Poissionaire and with good directions from Clara met up with Louis-Hadrien on time at the apartment, despite an issue with his mobile phone.
Clear instructions imparted, Louis-Hadrien left us to settle in.
Clara's apartment is small but quite adequate for a couple. A little more consideration given to furnishings would vastly improve appeal. The bed was comfortable.
We purposely sought an apartment with kitchen facilities as we like to shop for local food and prefer home cooked meals. Facilities in the kitchen are basic. Crockery and cutlery was just adequate with some necessary items missing such as a bread knife and potato peeler.
Facilities otherwise were good - shower, toilet and a very good washing machine made for a convenient stay.
This flat was so perfect for our stay. We stayed 9 nights and it was perfectly comfortable for two people and our luggage. We used almost every amenity and everything was in working order and much appreciated (especially the hair dryer and espresso maker!). The flat itself is wonderful with large windows in the living room area and bedroom that open wide and provide lots of sunshine through out the day, the bed is so comfortable, and the bathroom is small compared to our American styles but the shower was amazing! We loved the neighborhood , it was quite and safe. There are several cafes and grocery stores near by (we cooked a fair amount while staying here). Not to mention being less than a 5 minute walk to the Sacré Couer! There are several metro stops within walking distance too. I can't say enough great things about staying in this flat, it really made our trip to have such a wonderful home away from home! Thanks!!!
Très beau séjour dans un bel appartement bien tenu près des stations de Metro. Bel accueil lors de notre arrivée.
The place was so lovely, just as described. Comfortable for the two of us, it was quite cozy. Area is great, 5 min walk to the grocery; 10 min walk to the metro. Lovely courtyard, quiet building. Bed was quite comfy! It was also great to have a washer/dryer available.
For the North Americans the bathroom is small, but the water was always hot; even after two back to back showers.
It was a bit chilly when we arrived, but Clara left lots of blankets to keep us comfortable. By the end of the week, it had turned quite hot; yet the building and the apartment remained nice and cool.
Clara was a lovely host, meeting us at the apartment and showing us all the things we needed to have a comfortable stay. She was very friendly and welcoming, speaking to us in English, while we struggled with our broken French!
Our favourite part of the apartment was sitting on the couch with the windows open, listening to the bells ring on the Sacre Coeur. An unforgettable experience.
My sister and I had a lovely 3-night stay in Clara's apartment.
Clara got in touch 2 weeks before our arrival to give us directions and confirm arrangements for us to meet her nephew. We found the apartment without any problems (it is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Marcadet Poissoniers metro station), and Clara's nephew was waiting for us outside. He was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed for our stay.
The apartment is a typical Parisian style, and was surprisingly quiet considering its location near to lots of shops etc. It is on the 3rd floor and there is no lift.
The kitchen and bathroom are very small, but if you are out sightseeing all day, you don't need a lot of space. The bedroom is very spacious, and the lounge is a good size too. We cooked a meal on one night, but ate out the other 2 nights. We found everything we needed to cook our meal in terms of pans, utensils etc.
There are a variety of shops within a few minutes walk of the apartment, including a lovely greengrocers, and a 'Carrefour City' mini supermarket. There are many boulangerie/patisserie shops in the area, selling wonderful breads, cakes, tarts, sweet treats.
On the day we left, Clara's nephew was happy for us to stay at the apartment until 12 noon, and we just left the key inside and closed the door behind us.
All in all, we had a great stay, Clara and her nephew made everything very easy, and we would definitely recommend the apartment.
Clara's air bnb was beautiful and cozy and in a great location. It was so easy to get to Sacre Coeur and there were many interesting back streets nearby to wander around. The apartment was a great home away from home for a quick trip to Paris. The only negative comment I have would be that there was a bit of a mix up with the previous tenants and when we arrived at Claras apartment they had still not checked out. Louis was very kind about the situation however we were a bit hesitant to leave our belongings in the apartment not knowing when the previous tenants would return... It ended up not being a problem and they did return while we were out to dinner, but it was a bit of an odd situation.
This is a great place to stay in Paris. It is in a lovely neighborhood and surrounding by great bakeries and cafes. The pictures were very accurate as well.
