  • Alejandro is an extremely nice and helpful host. Flat itself is situated in a calm but still central part of the town. Rooms are very cosy and bathroom enormous:). Do not miss out on Alejandro's scuba-dive trip - a MUST DO!!!!

Gracias

  • Great place to stay and a must if you intend to dive. Alex is a Dive master himself and along with his boats and his buddy Julian they will look after all of your diving needs.

The rooms them self are spacious and immaculately clean as well as being well decorated (the shower is very impressive). We stayed in the smaller room and it was furnished with a fridge a coffee maker and a TV. Alex also provided us with a 20ltr bottle of water :-)

Alex himself is a great host who is always happy to advise the best places to go Alex also invited us for a drink (email hidden) one evening which was much appreciated. We met fellow divers that Alex has known for 20years+ and the following day they we on the same dive boat as us.

The apartment is located 15minutes walk from down town where you can get anything you need at a huge supermarket called mega. We found that we saved money (we are travelling on a shoe string) by buying food from here for breakfast and lunch most days. 10 minutes from the house you will find a bank, pharmacy and a 7/11. Only 2 minutes walk there is a McDonald's although we didn't use it.

I would recommend hiring a car and driving around the island, there are spectacular views to be seen on east coast and well worth the cost of a hire car. I would recommend using a company called Bonefish Car Rental, very very friendly takes interest in your welfare by advising you on driving rules on the island, which petrol stations to use and how to avoid being scammed.

Thank you Alex for a great stay.

  • We stayed with Alex for 2 weeks, and enjoyed every minute. Comfortable room with a great bed and enormous washroom. The pool area was lovely too. The price was right, and Alex is a fantastic host. I'd definitely recommend this place!

  • Alex's place was PERFECT! Everything we needed for our quick stay. Such a clean and warm spot to rest our heads. Even though we only got to chat once he was incredibly hospitable! Thank you again and we will look forward to staying with Alex again soon!

  • Great property with a unique friendly atmosphere - seems like that the main house is always full of interesting people from all over the world, while still you can easily retreat anytime to your own chambers to rest from activity-filled day. Also look no further for a dive shop - Alejandro is himself a divemaster who will take you to some reef dives or take care of your certification. The place is great, has all the amenities and comes with two bicycles to use!
The only drawback is that WIFI can only be used in/next to the main house, the signal doesn't get to your own room. Overall, highly recommended!

  • Our host Alex was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room exceeded our expectations, it was big, well decorated and flawlessly clean. It was also a short walk from the beach which is also very easily accessible by bus, taxi or scooter.

Also, Alex has his scuba diving business so he is very knowledgeable in that field and can bring you along his tours for very reasonable prices.

We also had the opportunity to spend some time with Alex and his girlfriend which was nice, they are very welcoming and you never feel like you are in their way.

    Would recommend to everyone!

  • Alex is awesome, and his place is a fantastic deal for folks wanting to visit Cozumel for a reasonable price.
I can highly recommend his dive service as well.

  • What can I say about Alex and his family?
    WONDERFUL!
(And all the other positive adjectives in the dictionary)
I stumbled on Alex's place on this website and got way more than I bargained for!
Everything from the room, the pool, the location, and especially the family made my Mexico trip unforgettable. Not only did I discover that I love scuba diving, by accident, but I had the opportunity to get certified by Alex! Don't miss the opportunity to dive in one of the most beautiful places in the world!
The location is simple and central. I walked with a full backpack from the ferry landing to the house. It's an easy walk to town for drinking, eating, and seeing the towns center come to life at night.
The house and room are beautiful, safe, and secure. You will want to take the bed with you, it's better than hotels! You have your own space complete with an awesome shower, cable TV, and small kitchenette.
Most of all Alex and his family made me feel so welcome I didn't want to leave. They made me feel like part of the family. I am writing this review from the terrace here because I came back and can't wait to be back again.
To put it simply, don't hesitate.

    Thank You So Much,
    The Accidental Diver

  • We enjoyed staying at Alejandro's and Stephanie's place in San Miguel! We like that is was away from the touristy area of the Island. They were great hosts and gave us so much insight on places to go and see. Taxi were really cheap here for usually around 25 - 30 pesos to get from the place to downtown. Stephanie has bikes for rent and even had a friend that can rent you his car for a great price. Our stay in Cozumel was short but we really enjoyed our time there.

About
Hi! Im a man born in Mexico City that just felt in love with the island of Cozumel back in the 80's. I moved here in the 92 and still dont see the day that I will move and live somewhere else, Cozumel is a great, save, lay back and friendly place to live and visit PLUS I can do what I like the most: SCUBA dive. In fact, i am a PADI Master Scuba DIve Trainner and run my own dive operation and my passion is to share the underwater world with other people. My wife and our kids are divers as well and pretty much that what we are all about, of course, the kids have other interest like basket ball , martial arts and wind surf!!! I will say that we are very down to earth, low key people...often we host divers coming for dinners, drinks and just hang out with us... we also like to go out and dance salsa music..and if you dont know how to do it..well... we will teach you! Im sure you will enjoy being here. Alex
