Interaction with guests

We can give you some tips about places where to eat, to hang out, we can ever direct you to the right people to hire services such as sailing, deep see or bottom fishing trips. We can tell you where to party and of course which places to avoid ( tourist tramps). Where to rent a good car, where to find fresh fruits, etc. Besides that... we will give you all the space and privacy you want, we enjoy hanging out with our guest but we dont push towards that or have any expectations. We also like our own do not expect us to be at your entire disposition all the time. Best way to keep in touch is by leaving a note at our door or send us a message using airbnb.

Getting around

Best way to go around town are bicycles, you can get to a couple of nice beach sites using the bicycles too.
Walking is totally possible but keep in mind that we are in a Tropical Island...its hot.
Taxis are expensive here! prices can compare with taking a cab in a city such as New York.
If you want to explore the South end of the island of the East side, your BEST option is to rent a car.

Other things to note

We Dont have pets but ... there is a cat that decided to adopted us. The cat will wonder around the property every once in a while, is a friendly cat that loves to be touch and will ask for attention. The island is very safe, however, if you rent a convertible car...you are taking the risk that the battery or other components will be stole.

House Rules

Our rules are very basic...
1. Don't smoke inside the rooms.
2. Lock the main door when you leave the property
3. Be conscious about the environment and the fact that utilities are expensive on the island, meaning: please turn off the a/c and fans when you are not in the room, don't waste water... keep all doors and windows close while using the a/c.
4. We have a pool... we expect you to dry off before jumping in bed to take a nap, so will go for getting that excess of suntan lotion off your body before going to bed...
5. We are a very friendly and easy going family...however..not so found to have guest with alcohol issues or/and drug use. No smoking marihuana at our property please
6. The cleaning lady comes Tuesday and Thursdays, she will clean floors, bathrooms...but will not pick up your clothes
7. Towels are provide, hand towel, shower towel and beach towel, we will give fresh ones if you stay with us for more that a week. We dont change towel every day.

Great clean quiet place, a few blocks back from Mega on the main drag. Easy access to centro on foot (2km via interesting back streets) or by the many collectivos. Alex runs a busy scuba business so is not around much. But is great to talk to and informative when he is there. Our main challenge was the WiFi which is only really available in the garden not the rooms.

Thank you for a great stay alex. The suite met all of our expectations as described. It is a bit far from the downtown. Nice for morning walks and probably quieter though. Anyone visiting Cozumel should have some form of transport, preferably motorized to get the full experience. Over-all a good first experience in Cozumel and good value. Our regret is that we didn't get to take you up on your offer to go snorkelling, perhaps next time. Thanks again, -peter, jen, kaytlin and dan

A great spot to stay for someone who likes a "locals" vibe. It's not in the center of the city but very walkable and we rented a jeep so everything felt close. We rented both rooms for our family of 4 and we loved it. Alex was great with suggestions on where to eat and what to do. An extra plus was the provided water jug in our room which helped us save a bit of money on water and was very convenient.

What a gem of a place! A large room with a comfortable bed, the shower had plenty of hot water. We enjoyed our entire experience. We grilled out steaks by the pool and enjoyed the solitude. After a busy day shopping, we enjoyed beers by the pool. The apartment was wonderful. We loved how the trees were incorporated into the house. Within walking distance of local restaurants as,well as the tourist district. We had no trouble at all with finding taxis for any of our needs. We truly enjoyed staying among the locals. It was just what we were looking for, far from the all inclusive places. Loved it

I took my 21 year old daughter on vacation to Cozumel, a first time visit for both of us. Alejandro's place was exactly as advertised, there were no surprises. Alejandro provides very detailed notes once you confirm your stay, recommending good eateries, directions, and that he has car rental options. I wished I had asked for details about the car rental, but ended up walking down to Avis on the main street to rent a car for 2 days to drive around the island. $138 usd including full coverage. The location is a little over 1.5 km walk to the waterfront, on the main street. If you are driving, because of the one-way road system, the distance is about 3 km. It is pretty hard to get lost, but driving is a little stressful in the city streets, as there are scooters, and motorcycles everywhere. Once you figure out the one-way road system and street markers it is relatively simple to get to the waterfront driving. Very straight forward if walking or biking. The main street has an easily accessible supermarket and plenty of tourist restaurants and shops. There are a lot of local eateries close by, where the food is absolutely delicious so full of flavour, and the total bill is $100 to $200 pesos, vs $700-$800 on the main street. If you are looking for a laid back enjoyable lunch with great tasting food, I do not recommend Sr. Frogs. The food was bland, they interrupt you every 5 minutes asking if you want shots, henna tattoos, balloon hats… and more shots!! The Mango Daiquiri was delicious, but for $14 usd it should be. You will need to know a little bit of Espanol for the local eateries as they speak little to no English, where the waterfront tourist restaurants are pretty much all English speaking. The drive around the island was beautiful. We stopped in at Playa Palancar to snorkel for a bit, only to see a few fish, nothing to write home about. I decided to enquire about AlexScuba’s diving options after we arrived, and made arrangements to go on an ‘explore scuba’ excursion. I highly recommend Alex Scuba for a scuba excursion. Unfortunately my daughter’s ear would not equalize, and she was unable to participate. I was very thankful her bill was discounted. It ended up being just my and dive master Vanessa. We did two dives, one tank at one location, then had an hour break to have a snack, water, and relocate to a second location for the last dive. It was an “Amazing” experience. Vanessa was very articulate, funny, positive, and most importantly thorough! Many thanks to Vanessa for sharing my experience and finding a new passion! My daughter had a hard time with the poor wifi, given her need to stay socially connected, but the wifi was sufficient for sending/receiving emails, making posts on , messaging, Instagram, etc, in the pool foyer area. The occasional message would be received in...

Alejandros Place is a great starting point to discover Cozumel. Even though situated a bit off the beaches, restaurants, etc. it is easy to get everywhere. The place is very clean, has a great spacious bathroom and a small garden to chill. Alejandro is willing to help you out with any questions you have,

Good central location, close to local restaurants, and about 2 km from the shore. Alejandro responded to all of our questions, and also gave us some recommendations on where to find nice snorkeling beaches. We did have some issues with the internet access near the end of our stay, possibly caused by a recent storm.

Hi! Im a man born in Mexico City that just felt in love with the island of Cozumel back in the 80's. I moved here in the 92 and still dont see the day that I will move and live somewhere else, Cozumel is a great, save, lay back and friendly place to live and visit PLUS I can do what I like the most: SCUBA dive. In fact, i am a PADI Master Scuba DIve Trainner and run my own dive operation and my passion is to share the underwater world with other people. My wife and our kids are divers as well and pretty much that what we are all about, I will say that we are very down to earth, low key people...often we host divers coming for dinners, drinks and just hang out with us... we also like to go out and dance salsa music..and if you dont know how to do it..well... we will teach you!
Im sure you will enjoy being here.
