Lovingly updated in 2019, including brand new mattresses and 400-thread-count sheets, this peaceful retreat sits on an expansive 1.3 acre lot, adjacent to The Himalayan Institute property, which offers yoga, seminars and massage, etc. Enjoy your morning coffee watching the sunrise from the deck and occasionally see deer roaming through the back yard. This light, airy home is filled with whimsical touches and artwork throughout. We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

The space
We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:
o We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
o We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and we wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
o We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists
o We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
o We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines”

Enter through the front door, and immediately feel welcomed into our light, airy, serene home. Large windows create a bright living space and provide the feel of being connected to the outdoors. The living room includes ample, cozy seating and a pull-out queen sleeper sofa. We have a 54” TV with cable service and a designated work-space, with a desk. We offer FREE WIFI, but it can be slow. For a stronger connection, you may want to visit the nearby Honesdale library.

The first bedroom has a full-size bed, AND a full-over-full bunk bed, comfortably sleeping 5 people. The top bunk is limited to one adult. There is a wide, 12 foot closet providing plenty of space for extra luggage. There is a full bathroom across the hallway. We provide towels, pillows, blankets and 400-thread-count sheets for all beds.

The Master bedroom has a king-sized bed with a vintage barn door, that we converted into a headboard. As you recline on the new 100% organic mattress (with luxurious mattress-topper), you’ll be looking at a photo of the sunset over the Gangha River in India. There is a lounge chair with a footstool and lamp for snuggling up with a good book. This bedroom also has a huge closet and an en-suite bathroom.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need for cooking meals. Windows overlook a beautiful wooded area. There is also a dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer for your use. We provide tea, local honey, stevia and Moka Origins coffee and chocolate made right in Honesdale, PA for our guests.

The dining room offers space for 8 people to share meals together. There are ceiling fans in every room and baseboard heating as well as a gas burning stove which keeps this home very warm in winter. We almost never need air conditioning, but in the event of a heat wave, we provide a portable A/C unit to help cool the house.

Parking spaces for two cars are provided in our driveway.

Where you’ll be

Honesdale, Pennsylvania, United States

Our location right next door to the Himalayan Institute makes walking to a yoga class, seminar or a massage at the PureRejuv Wellness Center, a breeze. The 1.3 acre lot, surrounded by woods on two sides gives a feeling of tranquil privacy, while the spacious living and dining area brings this same sense to the interior. Our neighbors to the left do share our driveway, so you may see them, and you will see their house, as you enter and leave, but otherwise the sensation is one of isolation and tranquility. We're located just 6 miles from downtown Honesdale, where you will find a variety of dining options, galleries, breweries, pubs, shops, boutiques and antiques.

I am a yoga and meditation teacher, happily married to my best friend. We have 2 sons together and 2 sons from his former marriage. We love traveling. Our favorite destinations are India, France, Italy, and any place with a beautiful beach! We love reading, painting, meditating, being with friends and eating great food! We are easy-going guests, who appreciate clean, well-kept properties. There is an Edith Wharton quotation on the back of my business card, which sums up my approach to life, "There are two ways of spreading the light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it."
