You're home away from home at LOLA's: A big comfy bed, couches & table seating, private entry & bath (shower), garden view & access, fridge & microwave, kettle & coffee/tea makings, TV (Basic U-verse), wifi & free and easy parking.
You will find LOLA's comfortable, private, clean, and spacious with plenty of extra amenities. Guests have found it peaceful and welcoming, a great spot for relaxing, and a convenient home base. The suite is on the lower level of our house - we live upstairs. You can expect signs and sounds of life around you, but we keep it to a minimum.
LOLA's guests are friends and family from out of town, commuting students, sports fans, culture buffs, and travelers who want a conveniently located home base. The suite accommodates 1 - 2 adults.
Your suite is on the ground level with a private entrance, facing the garden. Guests have commented that "the garden is absolutely wonderful!" They sometimes wish they had more time to enjoy the outside seating and natural feel - we even saw one guest painting a watercolor of the expansive view.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to help a lot, a little, or not at all. Guests find us warm hosts willing to answer questions you might have about the area, and generous with suggestions for places to go and things to do. At the same time we are happy to give you your privacy if you so wish.
Other things to note
Our two small hypoallergenic pups are ridiculously friendly but equally skilled at giving our guests their space - they are not allowed in your room. We are sorry to say, there is no wheelchair access.
No smoking anywhere on the premises - not in the room or in the garden.
Enjoy the pups, but please don't allow them in your room.
Reasonable quiet 10 pm - 6 am.
Please leave our place reasonably clean and tidy.
It is a great help if at the end of your stay you can strip the bed and put used linens (sheets and pillow cases) on top of the washing machine.
2-night minimum, 3-nights for holiday weekends
Key is stored in an easy-to-use lockbox right next to your entry. ($150 fee if house key is lost.)
Bay Area natives, Oakland is the perfect city for us - we encourage folks to come experience all that our city offers (art, culture, sports arenas, hiking trails, and great weather most of the year). We enjoy local restaurants, theater, classical and world music, art and history museums, cultural centers, and outdoor activities in the Easy Bay and San Francisco. I teach at a local community college and Sigi works at an art museum in San Francisco. We live with two rescue pups, and are enjoying our empty nest now that the kids have flown the coop. We look forward to sharing our house and our garden with Airbnb guests.
