I booked 3 nights with Ramon (aka Jose R) for a celebration based on airbnb reviews. I requested an 8am check-in due to a red-eye flight from L.A. Ramon said the boat would be ready. I confirmed the date & an 8 am arrival before departure. Ramon gave me his cell# to call him once we arrived. We got in @6:30a took a taxi to the marina & called Ramon @7a. He sounded agitated but wasn’t sure due to his broken English, I did however understand he was on his way over. When he arrived, I extended my arm to shake his hand, instead he yelled accusing me of not following airbnb policies and breaking house rules. He paced, ranted and raved about how we would not be allowed on his boat. His phone rang several times which aggravated him more. I calmly reminded him of our emails about our early arrival. Later he checked out the boat if the guests were gone and if clean. He called us over, the boat was vacant but dirty with no linens. He threw a bag of linens on the floor & said you can put them on and rest a bit while he contacts airbnb. His cell phone rang but didn’t answer he stormed out of the boat saying he can’t cope right now. I called airbnb & got thru after 30 minutes. Airbnb needed confirmation from Ramon that he would not host us in order to receive a full-refund, otherwise we would either stay or lose payment. I was told to wait while she contacted Ramon. We waited on the boat nearly 2 hours so I called back. After a 45 minute wait a new agent helped me who also had not been able to reach Ramon, still a refund could not be guaranteed. She suggested we look at alternate properties in the area, she would email links and let her know. I never got emails. Staying on the boat would not be safe & airbnb may not get back to me so risking losing payment I booked two great rooms through (website hidden) and got the hell off that boat. Later I got a call from another airbnb agent. I went through the ordeal with him. Luckily, all of my correspondence with Ramon was through airbnb’s website they were able to corroborate everything I said. Despite the ordeal a great time was had. A few tips for anyone making a reservation; first, in comparison to the other sleek fiberglass yachts, this place is old and in need of desperate TLC, the galley is claustrophobic for more than 3 people; the action along Ocean Dr is about a 20 min walk, otherwise pay about $10 rnd trip to get there. Keep in mind the host can be a loose cannon so ALWAYS communicate through airbnb website. So far no apology from Ramon. Good Luck!

  • We had one of the best experiences staying at Zen. Loved every moment of staying on the boat and Ramon is a great host. He works so hard to make sure everything is just perfect. We will definitely be back! Susan and Marty

  • We had the best time ever on this boat! It was massive and much bigger than the pictures show. Clean and tidy!

The location is great a bit away from the madness on Ocean drive but still walking distance (10 min). Great with free parking.

Lovely to sit on the boat watching the sunset in the evenings. We cooked brekkie every morning and the kitchen was fully equipped.

There are rental bikes very close to the marina so easy if you want to use them. The location of the marina is great as well as it is right where the bridge over to South beach is. So easy to get in and out, without having to drive around South Beach.

Also great to have Publix (supermarket) so close (5 min). We also went to Whole foods for grocery shopping, that was a 20 minute walk.

Ramon was a very good host and replied quickly to emails and check in/out was quick and easy. We would definitely like to come back, if Ramon will have us as guests again of course! Thanks Ramon!

  • The yacht was a unique experience. The location is great and the cabins were sufficient for our group of three people. Even three couples would still fit in. Two of the cabins are smaller, but still had their own lavatories and showers. Someone has really designed this yacht well as every bit of space was designed to give you as much room as possible.

We only had one key to the gate in the pier which caused a little arranging. The hotspot did not work at all and in case you needed wifi you had to go to the marina. Ramon was very flexible but not very quick in his responses, especially SMS, but everything could still be handled.

A very pleasant week and experience to be my first airbnb-booking. Highly recommended.

  • The yacht is well represented in the photos and description provided on the Air B&B website. The location is excellent and the marina staff were friendly and very helpful. The marine is just a couple blocks from a Publix grocery store. A water taxi stops at the marina and there is also a free trolley that travels down Alton Rd making many stops including a stop at the famous Lincoln Rd Mall. The only negative was poor internet reception.

We enjoyed staying on Ramon's yacht and would stay there the next time we are in Miami.

  • We loved our stay on this beautiful boat! Such a great place to stay, in Miami Marina, peaceful but still close enough to the South Beach action. Also the flexible check-out time was perfect so we could make the most of our stay on the last day (if no-one else checks in that day). Beats a hotel anytime, loved it!
The only problem was that we had no internet. Ramon did everything to fix it but to no avail.

  • Great location! Quiet marina just a few blocks from restaurants and shopping in South Beach. Free parking in the marina garage just steps from the pier. Enjoy spacious and luxurious accomodations on the Zen. Cook your own meals on board and be rocked to sleep with the gentle motion of the yacht after watching the sun set across the harbor. Get up in the morning and walk the mile-long path to the very tip of South Beach. Ramon was a gracious and caring host, and did everything possible to make sure we had a great stay. Would definitely go back.

  • My first time with bnb was great! Even though we arrived in a downpour, Ramon met us and explained everything on the yacht. Great location, roomy, free parking and gently rocked to sleep each might by the motion of the water. Definitely worth much more than what I could have gotten at a hotel!

  • Overall we enjoyed our time on the boat. It was a cool, unique experience & fun way to access South Beach. Very convenient, safe, nearby parking. If you want to cook, you should know that the kitchen is okay, but there is no grill. Just FYI. Ramon was a good host, fair & promptly responded to any of our issues. I would definitely recommend trying out the experience! Note; when it is windy, or cruise ships are coming or going, the boat rocks some. We found we adjusted fine to the boat rocking, but still felt it some after we were back on terra firma! Give it a try!

  • Ramon was a fantastic host! The pictures don't do his boat justice as it is a massive property. I stayed during one of the craziest weeks in Miami (Art Basel) and it was a great refuge from the madness. The free parking is a definite plus too!
