We had a great experience at Allen's place. Very clean and exactly as pictured. The location was great and close to all that Austin has to offer. He also recommended some great places and things to do. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great stay in Allen's apartment! The location is great, the apartment was very clean and exactly as described.
Allen is a very friendly host and responded too all of our questions. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Austin!
This was our first time in ATX and it couldn't have been better. Allen's space was a great location for the mostly bars, breweries, and restaurants we wanted to visit. AustinBcycle was also nearby and made for a fun ride around the City. Launderette had a very bougie vibe (sign of the changing times in E. Austin) but great vegetable dishes (and needed after too much BBQ) and cocktails.
This is a rapidly changing and hip neighborhood. Never felt unsafe and walked everywhere late at night.
Space was clean, modern and well decorated. Really enjoyed the library and the impressive collection of beer kozies. Would def stay here again.
Allen's pad is fantastic - excellent location, **super** clean, spacious, and perfectly appointed with design-minded amenities. Being on the alley provides a really quiet environment. There is a great yard where we locked our bikes in safety. As a gracious host, Allen organized our stay so that we had ample privacy. We stepped into vacation mode the minute we walked into the apt. Highly recommended! (Dewey the outdoor-cat was an awesome host, as well!)
Just as pictured, Allen was accommodating and the location was great. I'd highly recommend this place!
The apartment was exactly as described, super clean, and in a great location. Allen was prompt to reply to any questions and provided all the info we needed for a great stay!
The apartment is exactly how described and much more! It was very clean and there were a lot of amenities you wouldn’t find in a hotel. It was nice having cooking utensils and a refrigerator so we didn’t have to eat out every night unless we wanted to. The bed is very comfortable and it was nice feeling like we were staying at a friend’s place rather than a stiff hotel. There is a lot of natural light which I absolutely loved!
I have been to Austin 3 times and this was by far the best location I’ve stayed at. It is extremely close to Rainey / 6th St. and we paid less than $6 for Uber each time. There are a lot of great bars and eats in his area as well. We tried out a new bar called Craftsman which only opened a month ago, and we LOVED that place and all of the eats nearby. There are a lot of cool places within a 5 minute walk of his place, so I would definitely recommend trying some of those out. If you stay anywhere else, you probably wouldn’t experience all that this neighborhood has to offer.
Allen was extremely responsive throughout the entire process and he was very friendly. The information he sent regarding the apartment was also very well thought out and detailed, which made staying there seamless. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here and if I make a trip out again next year, I would likely stay again at Allen’s. His place is definitely a gem in Austin.
About the Host, Allen
I moved to Austin in 2003 to attend UT, and like many other people, I fell in love with this city. I have lived in my current home since 2007 and love the location and amenities that it has to offer. I spend my time playing sports, riding my bike, enjoying the nightlife, checking out bands and eating the great food Austin has to offer.
In 2010 I built a garage apartment with access to the back alleyway, and lived in there for 4 years while renting out the front house. When my tenants moved out I decided to rent out the garage apt to others who visit town for many of the great events Austin is host to. I am more than happy to offer suggestions on anything, including where to eat/drink, buy groceries, sight see, swim, listen to music, etc. Since I live in the front house I am very accessible, but privacy for you and your guests is my highest priority.
