Allen's garage apartment was exactly as described. Very clean and well appointed. We were able to set up a base of operations while we explored the tons of great restaurants and bars that are within walking distance.
We particularly enjoyed walking to Juan in a Million for breakfast tacos, Launderette for dinner, and Weather Up for cocktails.
We would definitely stay here again.
Allen's place was clean and spacious as described. We got to meet Allen upon arrival and he gave advice on activities to do and recommendations on calling ahead that came in handy. As others have stated the AC, fans, and comfort were enjoyable and made it hard to want to leave the apartment. We also enjoyed that the apartment was just a few blocks from a long running trail. Would certainly stay here again!
The place was amazing, this was my first time trying airbnb and I'm very glad I did. If you stay in austin I recommend staying here.
Allen's place felt like our own private studio apartment. It was an excellent set up, one of the best airbnb places we've stayed at. Spacious and comfortable, with both air conditioning and ceiling fans to escape the Austin heat. The wifi was super quick and with Netflix set up. We almost didn't want to leave the house! Area isn't in the heart of things, but convenient enough, as there are some good eating options within walking distance and about $5-$6 with uber into downtown. We got to meet Allen at the end of our stay and he was friendly and helped us stow our bags until we went to the airport. Highly recommend staying with Allen, would love to stay again
My Friend and I were completely satisfied with the apartment. The location was ideal and the comfort was welcomed after traveling the whole week.
This place was perfection, my husband and I stayed her for 3 nights and it was completely cozy, welcoming and super peaceful. It is also in a great location to uber around and the city.
Allen's place was awesome! Super quirky, cool apartment with everything you need. I stayed there three nights and it was perfect. It was close enough to everything (walking, cheap car2go trips and uber), while still in a quiet neighbouhood that gave me a way more authentic experience in Austin than I ever would have gotten in a downtown hotel.
About the Host, Allen
I moved to Austin in 2003 to attend UT, and like many other people, I fell in love with this city. I have lived in my current home since 2007 and love the location and amenities that it has to offer. I spend my time playing sports, riding my bike, enjoying the nightlife, checking out bands and eating the great food Austin has to offer.
In 2010 I built a garage apartment with access to the back alleyway, and lived in there for 4 years while renting out the front house. When my tenants moved out I decided to rent out the garage apt to others who visit town for many of the great events Austin is host to. I am more than happy to offer suggestions on anything, including where to eat/drink, buy groceries, sight see, swim, listen to music, etc. Since I live in the front house I am very accessible, but privacy for you and your guests is my highest priority.
