This great, historic apartment building is located right on Water Street. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, comfy bed, and unique living room with a record player and a great selection of CDs and records.
The living room overlooks the bustling Water Street, while the bedroom is quietly located at the rear of the building viewing a small backyard with a large tree.
Guests are invited to make themselves at home in the space, cooking essentials are all available (including coffee, teas, oils, and spices) as well as laundry facilities in the apartment with detergent and dryer sheets.
Interaction with Guests
The apartment is yours to enjoy in privacy, but I'm close by to help if you need assistance with anything during your stay!
The building is very conveniently located right next to the heart of downtown. It is about a 10 minute walk to George Street, bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and the waterfront. There are also great music and antique stores, a Tim Horton's and gas station, museums, a park, as well as a Newfie inspired restaurant within a 2 minute radius.
There is free on street parking right in front of the building for guests and there is also a bus stop less than 1 minute's walk with service to malls, Memorial University etc.
Other Things to Note
While the apartment itself is smoke-free, the only other tenant in the building is an older gentleman who uses medicinal marijuana to control pain. The other tenant is directly below and sometimes the smell drifts up into kitchen. It is not noticeable the majority of the time but people with allergies may be bothered by it.
The apartment was cosy and we had an enjoyable stay. It was exactly as listed, from the pictures to the descriptions. Great value! :D
I loved that we had the whole apartment to ourselves. The kitchen was well set up and a delicate attention was to provide us with coffee and tea for our first morning. The apartment is in a great location;easy walking distance to the downtown core, and very alternative-feeling, among eccentric second-hand shops. We really felt like we were in "the big city"! Thanks Andrea and Corey for being so flexible and friendly!
My boyfriend and I rented Andrea and Corey's apartment for 4 days last week. Are schedules didn't sync up so we did not have the opportunity to meet in person but the apartment came equipped with everything we needed including a hair dryer! One thing to note if you are over 6 feet tall you may find the bed a little short but otherwise comfortable. Andrea answered any and all of our emails about St John's virtually immediately. We had no trouble finding the place or acquiring the keys. Overall their apartment is incredibly spacious and welcoming.
Older building/ apt. right on Water St., very convenient to downtown. Small spaces, with a living room modestly but charmingly furnished. Great vinyl record collection and player. Nice, fully equipped kitchen, with tea, coffee, condiments, and many other consumables for those who wish to cook (as did I). Much enjoyed, and Corey was a pleasure as a host.
Amazing space. Felt just like home. Clean with every possible thing you could need from laundry to a fully functional kitchen. Corey always kept in touch to see if we needed anything. Nice and centrally located with parking conveniently outside the building. We would definitely be back.
We really appreciated our stay at Andrea's apartment. It was quiet and very clean. The bed is a bit small for tall guys as my boyfriend, but other than that, nothing to say! We were at walking distance from central action, which is great! The walk can be sometimes long during winter cold windy days, but it is so close that it only takes few minutes taking a taxi, under 5-7$. It's the perfect spot to stay if you want a quiet environment, close to downtown area. Nice gesture to have a coffee and tea basket! Thanks Andrea!
Had such a great experience staying at Andrea's! Excellent location, directly across the street from a bus stop but also very easy to walk into town as well. When we arrived we were so excited to see all kinds of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate sitting out for us which was perfect as we visited in the winter. Very cozy place, spent our evenings relaxing listening to some records. Will definitely be back next time we are in St John's!

About the Host, Andrea And Corey
We're both passionate travelers and outdoors-people! We're both from Newfoundland (Andrea from St. John's and Corey from Trepassey on the Irish Loop).
Andrea lived in British Columbia for several years where she completed an engineering degree, and is currently working in the construction industry.
Corey is attending Memorial University where he is completing a degree in geology.
We both love traveling, animals, food, exercise, tea, and the great outdoors (to name a few). We love meeting new people and look forward to meeting you!
Interesting history about the old railway in Newfoundland and located in a very historic 111 year old building.
A great spot for a walk, or to relax and read a book downtown, without the bustle of city life!
