Gortbrack Farm, located 5 miles outside Tralee town was set up by Eileen Carroll and Ian mcGrigor in 1991. Back then it was a neglected 10 acre strip with most of the land run over with rushes. This is the probable origin of it’s name ‘gort’ meaning ‘field’ and ‘breac’ meaning ’speckled’. With many willing hands it has developed into a comprehensive certified organic smallholding. We are ideally located for walking groups to explore the nearby Dingle penninsula, Killarney National Parks and much more in the diverse landscape of the southwest of Ireland. We are off the beaten track, so if you are not into too much exertion Gortbrack Organic Farm offers a quiet relaxing holiday experience for families or individuals to come and enjoy. The area is very scenic with mountains stretching out into the Atlantic ocean (bringing it’s share of rain!). But no matter what the weather is like, there’s plenty to see and do, or just take your ease.
Cabins on Gortbrack Organic Farm opened in early 2009. Three timber frame cabins, run off solar panels and wood burning stoves. These cabins can be rented for the ideal secluded getaway, or for attending courses at Gortbrack. The cabins are built right in the heart of the farm so you can wake up every morning in the beautiful peace and tranquility of Gortbrack, take a wander on the bog and explore the Nature trail, gardens, polytunnels and visit the animals... Visit the Dingle peninsula and Killarney National Park . It is the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
We have information available on the area.

Lovely accommodation on a organic farm at a great location to drive to Dingle or Killarney. We enjoyed our cabin very much that was cosy and quiet. Ian and Eileen were wonderful host's and gave us great suggestions for sight seeing!
It was a really cool experience. The cabin was simple but enjoyable and fit with the experience on the farm perfectly. Ian was really friendly and it was great having him give us tour of the farm, meeting the animals and introducing us to the vegetables.
Very well located to explore the ring of Kerry.
One of the highlights of our trip!
Thanks for the fresh duck eggs!
Very scenic location and really enjoyed the peace & quite in the morning. Plus if like pets there's some dogs and cats roaming around. All very tame. The cabins are very nice. Definitely reccomend the place
We had a wonderful time in the cosy alder cabin, in which is definitely enough space for two persons. The surrounding landscape is great and the spot perfect for trips to the dingle peninsula vor the national park. Also Ian and Eileen are perfect hosts and were always there for us. Thanks for everything
A very warm welcome greeted us with the wood burner already lit and milk and bread waiting for us! The cabin is 'compact and bijou' but has everything you need. Good location for exploring the Dingle Peninsular, Ring of Kerry and Kilarney National Park.
We experienced rain, sleet, hail, snow and high winds but the cabin was toasty warm with the wood burner. Cara, our dog did enjoy a snooze in front of it!
I'd love to go back in the summer to see the farm in full swing.
Ian and his wife are very nice and very accommodating. Recommend this lovely place and it's well located if you have a car.
We had a great stay at Ian's cabin which was super cosy after a long day on the road. Just the kind of place we needed. Ian was very welcoming and told us the highlights of the area. It's a shame we couldn't stay for longer. The dogs were ace and the donkeys stole my heart!
