The space

A lovely mezzanine apartment in a beautiful red brick building with a lot of history - it used to be The Royal Salford Hospital, one of the buildings bombed during the second World War.

The apartment is a split level with a double room and bathroom on the mezzanine level and living room, kitchen, another room and bathroom on the ground floor. The property has lovely high ceilings.

From the apartment you can reach the centre of Manchester in 15 minutes walking via Quay st and we're only 20 minutes WALK to Manchester United Football Stadium in the other direction. A perfect location whether your coming for a football match, a concert, or to visit / study in one of our universities.

There are lots of local taxis if you don't feel like walking and very cheap picking you up from the apartment.

Manchester is a great starting point for trips around England. we're 30 minutes from the airport and only 20 minutes to Manchester Piccadilly Station, where you can get trains to the whole of England - 30 minutes to Liverpool, one hour to Blackpool and Leeds.

All bedding and Towels provided for guests and secure underground parking using keypad codes.

Second (or third, depending on how you count it!) time we've stayed and we shall be back! Lovely central apartment, no more than a 15-minute walk from the heart of downtown in a funky area. Lots going on, and the people around are great.

Grace has a lovely flat, with just about everything you need. As it happened, my company offered to put me up midway in a posh hotel and I turned them down, to stay here, so that really should tell you all you need to know. I stayed for a week, and it was easy to get around town (everything is in walking distance) and there was plenty to do and see. She was a great host, and was very responsive. Recommended.

Very comfortable flat and Grace is a fantastic host. Very very secure parking and residence. It felt a little like entering Fort Knox with multiple keypad entries. Close proximity to a curry/chippery shop and a convenience store...but it's a few blocks to more shopping. 20-25min walk to city center. One note: the three single beds are in a loft above the living/kitchen area. Not terribly quiet if others are awake and in that area.

The apartment is very basic, the mezzanine is very narrow with 3 single beds and a bathroom, there is a bedroom downstairs with a bathroom next to it, then the other beds are sofa beds under the mezzanine. There isn't much privacy but it was very clean, (apart from an unemptied bin), there is a very busy road outside the window too, that meant there was a lot of traffic noise until the early hours but I think that's just par for the course with city centre accommodation!

Response from Grace:
You described our apartment as very basic yet you saw the photographs of the place before you booked. You saw pictures of the mezzanine galleried space quite clearly in the photographs therefore the privacy was evident to you also. There is 1 new sofa bed in the living area 2 months old. The apartment is very clean but an unemptied bin is unacceptable. Noise from a busy city centre main road is beyond our control.

Hi there,

I decided to start advertising again with Airbnb after a break of 3 yrs or so as i enjoyed looking after my guests while they were visiting London and Manchester.
I've been lucky to meet travellers from all over the world and i like to make their experiences as stress free as possible when they visit. Some of my former guests i regard as my friends now.
Please feel free to contact me in case you have any questions or need any more information about my accommodation or the location.
