Welcome to the Lander Stewart Mansion on the Delaware river, in downtown Phillipsburg. With Stunning views from the top floor apartment over the two rivers & Easton town, from LSM you can walk the "free" bridge & be in the center of all the action in less than 5 mins.
Your luxury stay on the top floor of the only brownstone in NE Jersey (1865) on the historical district's "Attorney Row" will be filled with history & pride in this unique example of American spirit and success from a bygone era.

The space
Phillipsburg is steeped in history and was so strategically important,particularly at the time of the civil war for the Delaware river and the Morris Canal. Then came the railroads.There are plaques all along South Main Street explaining the architectural and commercial significance of the area. There are three different railways visible from the top floor rear windows with trainspotting and bird-watching being a favorite past-time. We have dedicated the top floor with the best views to your luxury accommodation. This listing is for the entire TOP FLOOR of the Townhouse ONLY.
Either as a king suite with an additional single pull out, or the interconnecting "Artists Haven" self contained two bedroom apt, next door, that sleeps Six, you will have everything at your fingertips and more. All the modern cons in a mansion from two centuries ago, so that you can live like a Lord or Lady and sip from fine crystal.
Many of our guests visit the Crayola Center so we give great attention to the needs of our little ones, such as toys, games, painting and drawing ,with charging stations and high speed WIFI in every room. We do not encourage TV but they are equipped with free Roku, Netflix and of course Alexa for local weather and flight information.
For an additional fee you can enjoy the mansion ground floor and terrace to watch the magnificent sunsets as your private entertaining space in the evening or for continental breakfast in the parlor. Business Conference facilities can also be arranged.

The Lehigh Valley is filled with things to do if you are on a short visit to see your child at Lafayette College or the surrounding areas' many activities such as Dorney Park, Aquapark,Sands Casino, Bethlehem Steel-stacks for concerts and Musicfest, Martin Guitar Museum, Poconos for skiing, Camelback Apres Ski, Pocono Raceway, and Kallahari waterpark and conference center..
But Easton and Phillipsburg have so much within five minutes from Lander Stewart Mansion. The children's Crayola Center, The famous Easton State Theatre, Sigal Museum and several great restaurants of every style are a short walk. Take a tour to one of the many breweries and vineyards in the area, Stroll the famous farmers market on Saturday mornings or go tubing on the river, one block from LSM.
If you like to go back in time, take a train ride on one of the nostalgic Delaware Excursion trains to the vineyards, Easter Bunny egg hunt, corn maze, pumpkin pick, or join the masses on the "sold out" and very popular Christmas Polar Express .
All summer long and into the fall, there are weekend festivals on both sides of the bridge with live music for all the family along the riverbank in the 600 seat amphitheater, culminating in the famous Baconfest PA in November.
Lehigh is saturated in the ARTS and there is an abundance of art activities right here including a stroll through the Karl Stirner Arts Trail to admire the sculptures. There are many great galleries and workshops in the center of town where you can even join in or just watch. If you prefer to stay home and be inspired by the views over the river, then just bring your paints, our easel is waiting for your masterpiece.

The Lander Stewart Mansion is a private home , so someone will be home almost all the time. We share our home with 'Jack' & 'Lincoln' our house dogs, who are there for your protection and hugs. You may spot them in the garden. They only bark to alert danger or extreme excitement, so you will never be alone. However, the dogs can't open doors yet to greet you nor do they have access to your floor unless invited, so express self check in is available after 3pm to everyone. Doors are secure with your own personal pin code provided through the secure airbnb portal prior to check-in for all access during your stay. Due to the current Covid19 Pandemic we would appreciate the use of masks, sanitizer and disinfectants during your stay, particularly when in common areas or accepting food deliveries. We love to meet all our guests but we will only interact with you at your invitation.
There is a wide range of brochures on the surrounding areas and local businesses,in the foyer and in your rooms or if you prefer we can provide you with some activity suggestions via text. We are delighted to welcome you to the Lander Stewart Mansion. Please enjoy your stay.
