Wonderful lovely villa. The photos posted are faithful to the beauty of the place. Our only little problem are the mozzies...but hey, this is rural Bali, so if one wants to get close to nature, one needs to live with it. The staff are very very very accomodating (I wanted to make some pancakes and asked for a cup of flour and milk and they readily obliged). And they are always on the ready to light mosquitoe coils every night in all the strategic locations. We will definitely want to come back.
The reservation was canceled 200 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gorgeous Location! When we got to the Kupu Kupu Villa, we were thrilled to see it sat right on the edge of the property over looking the rice fields, and right next to a wonderful pool. I used the pool every day - fantastic for an early morning or evening swim. The ladies who served breakfast were so sweet and hospitable. We had a fantastic time. We spent five days here, but I could have stayed much longer. It was close to the center of Ubud. I would not suggest walking however to Ubud, due to traffic and the size of the streets, but a taxi only cost $40,000 ~~$4 USD. We had four adults, but could easily accommodated 6 adults and two little ones.
I would absolutely stay here again.
We really had a great time at the Kupu Kupu house!
It has a great view on the rice fields, the house is decorated with a lot of taste, and the swimming pool is really nice.
The manager and staff were very friendly and we were very well taken care of.
Me and my friends definitely recommend this place and will be happy to rent it again on our next trip to Ubud.
Totally enjoyed our stay here. It was so much better than our already high expectations. The location is quiet, and enough away from Ubud. The staff are so helpful and sweet even to taking us to temple with them on a holiday day for them. The house is STUNNING!!! The pictures do not do it justice and they are good. The view over the rice paddies is divine from the verandah. There are alarm clock ducks that come into the newest flooded rice paddy to gaggle and waggle excitedly - what a way to wake up - so sweet. All of the guests loved the ducks best. They are fascinating. I laid on the outdoor daybed and watched them for many joyous and relaxing hours.
We met Ian - the owner at the end of our stay and he is really lovely and very hospitable. These guys have created a paradise - JUST GO!!!!!
We were two couples and stayed 4 days in Kupu Kupu. It was wonderful. Peaceful, quiet, excellent service, very frindly staff. We enjoyed it very much.
My Family and I enjoyed a month here in June - July 2012.
We loved the peacefulness of the location - and easy enough to get into Ubud on mopeds. (maybe a 7-8 minute ride to Monkey Forest road)..
The villa was great, brand new i think, huge pool and awesome outdoor shower in the main room - our teenage kids loved it too.
The very friendly and helpful staff and manager can cook breakfast, lunch and dinner at the villa for you - or you can get into Ubud in a few minutes to a heap of great places (we had breakfast at the villa each day, but ate out for everything else - and cooked some occasional stuff ourselves in the villa)
Some restaurants we liked and ate at every few days: Clear Cafe, Kafe with a K, Havana Cafe
(we lived in Bali for 2 months - our other month was spent in Seminyak - as a comparison - seminyak is more fo a beach / go out type place - Ubud was more of a peaceful experience)..
