CHIANG MAI ATTRACTIONS
WHAT TO SEE IN CHIANG MAI
Chiang Mai is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. The scenic mountain terrain beckons travellers to explore its peaks and forests, while the city is home to a wealth of historic and cultural sites waiting to be discovered.
Whether you’re the adventurous type who loves outdoor activities or a cultured epicure who loves to experience the finer things in life, a holiday in Chiang Mai will more than satisfy you – it will amaze you.
The Night Bazaar is arguably Chiang Mai’s biggest attraction in its self, leading the modern legacy of the Yuannese trading caravans that would stop here along the ancient trade route between China and Myanmar. Historic attractions are a bit thin on the ground around here. The reason people come to the area is primarily to shop and absorb the lively atmosphere.
Other pulls of the Night Bazaar are entertainment focused with a varied selection of bars featuring live performances of boxing, cabaret and singing. However, true to Chiang Mai form there are a few temples speckled around the area; these include Wat Sri Dornchai, Wat Chang Kong and Wat Ubokut. Although these are some of the least spectacular structures within the city it is still well worth checking them out. The Ban Haw Mosque built by the Chin Ho, a group of Chinese Muslims during the 19th century, is also within the Night Bazaar area.
I have to give more details about Baan SongJum Homestay. In front of our place there is a very good Chinese Duck Noodle Soup shop all our guests really like very much same as
home made Dim Some is very good too.
Chiang Mai's exalted river is Mae Ping . A community of Chinese traders and Western missionaries populated the eastern riverbank directly across from Talat Warorot. Today the neighbourhood is called Wat Ket, the nickname of the nearby temple, Wat Ketkaram. The temple was built in the 15th century and houses an eclectic museum of attic-like treasures.
If Th Charoenrat had footpaths, this area would rival the old city for its ancient ambience and tourist appeal. But speeding traffic claims the narrow space between buildings. Instead, it's best to dive deeper into the neighbourhood by going along one of the little lanes off Th Charoenraj and behind the temple.

Nui is a heartwarm person and give us good recommendations for Chiang Mai. We had a wonderful room. It was clean and comftable. We wanna visit Nui as soon as possible again.
Very near to the old city，good position.Nui and her son was very warm-hearted to give us a lot of goog suggestions.
A good value for money but the room is not as expected. The room was very simple, floor was dirty and fan made lot of noise. The room was not have wooden floor as they show on the pictures. We had a red carpet not very clean so i was very surprised. The kitchen is poor and this is a point to improve. Despite of this, Ms. Nui is very nice and kind and location is a great place out of the city 15 minutes walking. The garden is very nice but be carefull with the mosquitos! We were expecting a litlle bit more of this place and room bearing in mind the good comments have been registrered. From our experience, raisonable price but that's it.
We have been in the "Place of Good Memories" for a week.
The place is very warm and welcoming, every morning you get a hearty good morning greeting and upon every arrival from an activity a warm welcome back.
The place feels a lot like home such that without even noticing we were calling it home on our first day.
Probably the most valuable experience during our stay here was the help we got on things like calling other companies to arrange activities, information of where to go eat, what to see in the city and where to go for a hike or help and advice for renting a motorbike.
Parichart is very nice and warm and we enjoyed talking to her during the times we were just relaxing at her place. Parichart gave us good advices for our trip but we also talked to her about other things and it was fun.
We got a room with a fan and it was good enough for us. It wasn't very hot. We had warm water for showering all the time. The room was simple but very nice and tidy.
At first I thought the bed was a bit too rough but I slept on it just fine and we had a good nights sleep.
After a week's stay we can indeed say that it was a "Place of Good Memories" :) Our stay here was a major good part of our trip experience.
Also Lana is very cute.
Casa con encanto y buena ubicación. La habitacion no era exactamente como en las fotos y aparecieron varios bichos. Buena ubicación y muy buen trato. Quizás la limpieza algo mejorable...
Our brief stay was very good. They made you feel right at home and even upgraded my room! They accommodated us with everything we needed including a taxi very early in the morning. Thanks for the wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful time at Nui's place. Nui and Pen made us feel like at home, they gave us a lot of advices and good tips. the room was clean and the outside area is really (website hidden) is not far from the city center, about 15mn walking and very quite place to sleep. We highly recommend to go to Nui s place if you come to Chiang Mai!

About the Host, Parichart
Hi my name is Parichart. Everyone calls me Nui. They said my real name is too long and difficult to pronounce. I used to lived and worked in Bangkok more than30 years. Now I am back to my hometown and I am stay at "Baan SongJum" , my birthplace. No one lives in this house for 4 years so I though I have to maintain and renovated this house.
People always asked what does it mean "BaanSongJum" . The meaning is House of Good Memories. Why's that? Because this house has a long histories of one gentleman from Shan State Burma. My grandfather who built this house . He used to work in the jungle north of Thailand and Burma with his British company. He loved wood special Teak . All house is man made and use only axe to curve all pillars. Every year student from Chiangmai University comes to see my house. Because BaanSongJum was one of the Lanna Teak wood house in Chiangmai.
Main house is big and made by teak wood . Guests allow to see the structure of the house and I will show all the pillars and photos of my grand parents in old days in the jungle . And I will tell the stories of the houses and Wat Ket our area.
Now I change private house to be Homestay for people who come to visit Chiangmai feel comfortable like stay with friend. Every guest can relax and take their breakfast when they wake up . And feel like they are in comfortable place and good feelings.
