La Casa se encuentra lejos del centro de Guanajuato, lo cual para lo que implica la zona turística en Guanajuato no es atractivo! La casa bien, pero nos dieron otra que no fue la contratada
We enjoyed our stay in Guanajuato very much. Salvador was very responsive and helpful. While we did not get a chance to meet him, he and the woman who helps him with the properties, Julieta were always available should we have any issues or questions.
Julieta met us and showed us around the house. She returned the next day with a bowl of fruit and checked to make sure that everything is okay.
We did not stay at Del Real, instead, Salvador invited us to stay at another property he owns that is very close by. The house was wonderful - full kitchen, nice bedroom and bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The terrace on the roof was wonderful - it provided a fantastic view of the city and was a great place to hang our laundry. We stayed a week, so we did laundry once. There is a washing machine in the house.
The house was very close to a couple of streets that took us down to the town's center. The most direct, took about 15 minutes to get to town and about 25 back as it is uphill. The great thing is that there is a little grocery towards the top of the hill to grab snacks, drinks, sundries, or food to make dinner. It is a small place, but you can find the basics here.
We would definitely stay at one of Salvador's places in Guanajuato again when we return.
The house and location were excellent. The views were impressive. We have a few minor hitches getting into the place because a a family emergency . Salvador keeps great options in Guanajuato City for places to stay. We are sure to use him again.
Pros: Location was amazing, views were fantastic, within walking distance to most attractions. Apartment was relatively clean, we loved the decor. Imelda was also very sweet, she brought us fruit and chocolate milk!
Cons: Amenities not as advertised, specifically Parking on Premises and Cable TV. We were made to park in the street even though there was a carspace in the apartment that wasn't used the entire time we were there, we presumed that it either belongs to someone else or is communal. Secondly, there was no tv, just the bracket where a tv used to be. We probably wouldn't have watched much tv anyway, but it would have been nice to have had the choice!
We didn't bother looking for the hot tub which was also listed as an amenity, so that might be there!
Also, we had to ask for mugs for the kitchen, we got 2, there were 3 adults, so we had to take turns, it became amusing rather than annoying.
Overall it wasn't too bad, all other listed amenities were available. We probably wouldn't stay here again because of the parking, it was just very difficult to pack the car in the rain since it becomes quite slippery due to the cobblestones and being on a hill, we had a lot of stuff since we were travelling with a baby. Otherwise it would be ok.
The deparment we stayed in had everything needed for a good stay, included some extra touchs of warmness from the host (free bottled water, some amenities, written tips to make the stay in Guanajuato easier...). The photos published reflects in a very truly way the facilities, and the place is full equipped.
The apartment is located at a walking distance to the historic center, where all the attractions are, 15 minutes walking when descending and maybe good 30 minutes returning. Anyway, taxi from center can cost as little as 5 dollars or 50 MX$.
We didn't need to interact very much with the owners, everything was set before arrival, with the only issue that it was a little difficult to locate somebody to open the door for us considering we get to the place at the previously arranged hour. Nothing serious to worry about.
I would recommend this place to stay in Guanajuato, specially if the stay is longer than a couple of days.
