The space
Relax in the peaceful surroundings of our secluded riverfront guest cabin.
From the front picture windows you’ll be greeted by spectacular views of the coastal mountains and the rushing blue waters of the Wheaton River. The guest cabin can accommodate groups of 1 to 4 people. There is a main floor bedroom with double bed and a cozy upper loft with a sofa bed. Kitchen facilities (propane stove, kitchenette with double sink, cookware and utensils) are set up for basic cooking needs. The open concept living area is furnished with a “northern rustic” flavour. For your comfort, we offer clean, comfortable beds, down comforters, the golden light of propane and kerosene lamps and the warm glow of a wood heat stove.

“The Facilities”:
The outhouse has a long colourful tradition in the North and you’ll find different architectures, seating arrangements and décor throughout the Yukon. Ours is clean, private and comfortable with an interesting collection of Yukon “stuff”.

Amenities:
complete kitchen with propane stove

blue canisters with fresh water (there is no running water in the cabin)

Carmen and Robert hail from beautiful Thun in Switzerland, nested within the Swiss alps. They left everything behind and moved to the Yukon more than fifteen years ago. Together with their 3 kids they have been living off the land and pretty much off the grid ever since: their home at Wheaton River is solar powered, they use water directly from the stream and organic veggies grow in their backyard (at least as long as there is no snow). Part of the family are also one donkey and one horse (they are friends), six dogs, two cats, six chickens, quails and 1 hamster! At their Wheaton River Wilderness retreat they accommodate guests year-round. And they worked hard to make it what it is today: a place to relax, to have fun, to be outside, and to explore. Both Carmen and Robert are professional tour guides.
