The Space

This room is one of three separate rooms that are located inside the apartment "A warm and cozy home away from home" The apartment is rented out as an entire apartment, as well as individual rooms. Hence, guest must check with me before making reservation, so I can verify whether or not the place is available entirely or just as private rooms..

This room is located on the 1st floor of my home. It is in a beautiful duplex apartment in Brooklyn that is 15 minutes away from downtown Manhattan by trains. My neighborhood borders both a Jewish and a West Indian community and I live on a small block that is located across the street from a playground and one block away from the Interfaith Hospital. There are post offices, pharmacies, grocery stores, hair and nail salons, supermarkets and other places that provides a variety of amenities nearby. The C train is just one block away & the A trains are two blocks away, the LIRR is also a block away and other means of public transportation are very convenient just in case one does not drive. There is a parking garage that is located three blocks away from my home, also a BP Gas station and a Seven Eleven is located around the corner just in-case one does drive. Furthermore, The Children's museum, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Bridge, Prospect Park and the Botanical Garden are all amazing sites to see while staying at my home.

SORRY THIS ROOM ONLY ACCOMMODATES TWO PERSONS, NO EXTRA GUESTS ALLOWED!!! THANK YOU!!

  • We stayed 2,5 months at Portia's house. The room is big and clean like The living room and the kitchen so you can have your privacy or divide time with the others roommates. The place is really close to the subway and you have everything you need in the neighborhood. Portia is really nice and helpfull.

  • We spent 6 days in the large room. The place is comfortable, conveniently located near a subway station and easy to reach from JFK airport.

  • My girlfriend and I spent 5 months in the larger room.
Booking this room you won't have only a huge bedroom but an entire big apartment at your availability with a big living room connected to a fully furnished kitchen. The pictures show exactly what you will find.
The bedroom is large enough to keep 4 luggages and still have space for yourself. The bed is comfortable. Lot of light.
The bedroom has a private access to a shared bathroom that you will find really useful.
From the window you can see a playground where people go for a run or play baseball.
The neighbourhood is not the nicest area of Brooklyn but despite some bad rewievs about it, it's safe. We used to return late at night and we didn't have problems. You have a huge supermarket around the corner, many laundries and fast food. And over all the subway (4 mins walk from home) brings you in lower Manhattan in less than 25 mins! If you already lived in NY you'll know that's a big advantage.
Portia lives downstairs in her own apartment and you rarely see her but if you need something just text her and she will answer you asap.
In conclusion we had a really good time in this house and I definitely suggest to book this room.
One day we would love to come back.
    :)

  • I stayed at the large room for about 2 weeks. Actually I stayed at the medium room for 4 months but since my boyfriend visited me for a week I had to move to the bigger room because there's a bed which fits 2 people very well. You got private access to the bathroom and a small closet. Altough the room is quite big, if you plan to stay for a longer time and you have a lot of stuff, I'd recommend the medium room because there's a bigger closet.

  • Portia est une hôtesse très agréable, discrète, disponible, arrangeante... Le logement est bien placé, proche du métro, très pratique pour se rendre à Manhattan de jour comme en soirée. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans ce lieu

Portia ws very helpfull with everything and wehad a wonderfull time in NY. te next metro station was near and it usually just took us about 20 min to et into Manhattan. There is also a large supermarket just around the corner which we appreciated. I can only recommend Portias rooms.

  • Portia is great, very friendly and welcoming.
The area is not the nicest in Brooklyn by any sense of the imagination (no curb appeal whatsoever) but is conveniently located a few blocks from the Norstand express stop of 'A' Subway line.
I was looking for the most inexpensive option on a last minute trip and this suited that purpose well.

About
I love living a life that is full of adventure and new experiences. Music, art, foods are all wonderful adventures that can be very exciting to indulge in. Hence, living in Brooklyn enhances the excitement while adding a diversity that never gets dull. In my free-time I love to have a nice lunch or dinner at a trendy restaurant in Manhattan. When I crave a lovely glass of wine and some escargot the place I like to go is Balthazar. I also love sushi and foods that are spicy so there are many other wonderful restaurants to go to for that too. Music, music I love all types of music, especially Latin and world music. I also enjoy going dancing with friends or visiting an art gallery. The Broadway plays are fun to see too and afterwards, going home to Brooklyn is a nice escape from the big city. Having me as a host would be quite an experience because I understand what hospitality means; I have worked within that industry for many years and I take great pleasure in welcoming guests into my home. Besides visiting a big city and enjoying what it has to offer one also must be able to go home to somewhere that is quite relaxing and soothing to the soul. I also work as a real estate agent, so if you are interested in residing in Brooklyn for the long haul I can certainly help you with finding an apartment or home- p.joseph at hlresidential
