Ashbrook is a quiet, unspoilt, rural area with friendly neighbours and lots to see and do nearby. It's also a lovely place to do nothing at all.
Visit Strokestown Park and Gardens and step back in time to see what life was like in our ‘Downton Abbey’! While you’re there, visit the National Famine Museum and explore the stark history of the Great Irish Famine of 1845. Take a drive from Scramogue Cross towards Rooskey and view the magnificent Kilglass lakes on the way. Hire a boat in Carrick on Shannon and cruise the Shannon/Erne waterway. Stop at one of the small villages along the way and taste the local culinary delights.
Try your hand at the Bodaborg challenge at Lough Key Forest Park just outside Boyle. While you’re there explore one of the many trails through the forest, or, take a boat out to explore the beauty of this delightful area from the water. Swing by for a game of golf at Strokestown, Carrick on Shannon or Roscommon Golf Clubs. Walk Sliabh Ban mountain or one of the many other marked walkways throughout Roscommon. Eat out in sumptuous surroundings of Lough Rynn Castle or Kilronan Castle (there’s a day spa here also, if you feel like chilling out). Spend a few hours going back in time at monastic Clonmacnoise.
You’ll be surprised how much there is going on in this little known, peaceful area. At the house you’ll find a guide to the local attractions, pubs and eateries, with personal recommendations.

Home was nicely decorated and Angela left us alovely welcome package of scones and tea. She was extremely flexible and accommodating. Setting is lovely and quiet and we loved the local town. People were so friendly. We spent most of our time in the amazing sunroom
Je me suis senti comme chez moi à peine arrivé sur les lieux.
Je vous recommande cette espace de calme et sérénité.
Je remercie Angela pour son accueil et toutes les attentions dont elle a fait preuve lors de mon séjour.
Absolutely wonderful. Angela's place is warm and comfortable. She was a great host. I highly recommend without reservation. Thanks Angela
We loved our home away from home outside of Strokestown! Angela's home is lovely and has all of the amenities one would expect. The back sun room is so relaxing, looking out on the beautiful hills and cattle grazing. We cooked a couple of meals and enjoyed them in front of the turf fire (I'd always wondered what turf was like!). The only little hiccup was finding the house since there aren't really road signs or house numbers but Angela, as if she's psychic, called us right when we were feeling a bit lost and easily guided us to the home. Very enjoyable and a lovely hostess!
