Located on the 1st floor of a 150-yr old townhouse in historic downtown Kingston, just steps to the beautiful waterfront, City Park, weekend farmer's & antique markets, main tourist attractions and the most restaurants per capita! Français aussi :)
The apartment is located in the beautiful, historic downtown core of Kingston, with a lovely deck and backyard. The space consists of a large dining room, living room and kitchen with 1 bedroom that opens onto the deck and backyard and 1 bathroom. There is a large pull-out sofa bed in the living room
You will have access to the entire space - backyard, deck, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Nothing will be shared. You will also have access to all kitchen amenities.
Interaction with Guests
We will greet you and introduce you to the apartment, the neighbourhood and Kingston. After that the apartment is all yours, though we do live upstairs if you need anything!
The location is the best part of this apartment! It offers museums, historic military landmarks, nature, and a vibrant day and night life filled with bars and restaurants. No need for a car - everything is within walking distance! But of course if you do have a car there is a parking space provided.
- City Park: only 1 block away and full of green space, old trees, a playground, a kid's waterpark, a baseball diamond, picnic benches, etc., it's the perfect place to walk the dog, throw a frisbee, read a book or visit one of the many weekend events like "Art in the Park".
- Waterfront: just 3 blocks away you can sit on a bench and watch the sailboats on Lake Ontario, bike, cycle or walk the Waterfront Trail, or even take a swim, rent a kayak or try sailing for yourself.
- Downtown core: with the most restaurants per capita you will be sure to find the perfect spot for lunch, brunch or a romantic dinner.
- Queen's University: just a 5 minute walk away through City Park is Queen's University, with it's lovely campus and beautiful old limestone buildings.
- Main Tourist Attractions: walking trails, reenactments, tours of Sir John A MacDonald's house and haunted walks - Kingston has more than enough tourist attractions to keep you busy and they are all located within minutes (walking) from the apartment.
If you do want to venture beyond this beautiful neighbourhood there is a bus stop right outside the front door! You can catch this to the main bus terminal (or walk - 5 min), which takes you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Kingston or beyond (eg: take ViaRail to Montreal for the weekend).
Other Things to Note
We provide you with guide books, pamphlets, etc. to get to know the area and what there is to do. Please let us know if you will need the 2nd bed (which is a pull out couch) and we will have it setup. We also have a Keurig coffee machine available for you to use.
Four members of our family stayed here, very comfortably, while visiting our daughter at Queen's. We have stayed in every style of accommodation over the years in Kingston, and this was our best experience.
We played chess at the games table in the big bay window, played cards at the large dining table, and made a delicious breakfast in the well-provisioned kitchen. The master bedroom was private with a fantastically comfortable bed. We appreciated the central location, and enjoyed an early morning walk in the historic neighbourhood.
The best part of all, was meeting and chatting with the host, Alex, who was very warm and solicitous.
This is not your sleek, modern, upscale hotel-style accommodation. We were more charmed by this fully equipped apartment, and will have some unique memories of this stay in Kingston.
Very comfortable, clean and great location. Alexander was helpful and responded very quickly to our questions. We would recommend his apartment. The free parking is also a bonus. Thanks!
Close to downtown and university campus. Lovely hosts- flexible with check out times.
This is my first airbnb experience, and it definitely made me a huge fan of using it! The house is in a very quiet location near DT kingston, and is really close to the lake. The amenities are great, the house is spacious enough for four. The host also provided us with some homemade cookies, which is really heartwarming. Overall, great location, great amenities, and great experience for airbnb!
My Boyfriend and I both very much enjoyed our stay! The house has a wonderful vintage charm and is located minutes away from everything! We felt very welcome, and we would definitely recommend Alex's place to anyone wanting to stay in Kingston!!
We felt very welcome by Alex. Getting I to the apartment was easy and the location is fantastic. The apartment had everything we needed... except for a food processor. But that was probably asking a lot!
Alexander has been a lovely host - very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The place is just as it is in the photos - spacious and well equipped. The location is perfect - a very short walk to Princess Street and all the shops/restaurants and also a short walk to Queens University and the waterfront.
Well recommended, certainly would stay here again! Thank you Alexander!
