About this listing
A modern 2-bedroom home-away-from-home in the middle of town - walking distance to St Michael church, hospital, market, restaurants, paddy fields and the sea. Inside a gated compound of 4 houses owned by the family. Terrace & bar area to chill out.
ABOUT THE GUEST HOUSE
It's a brand new floor in a 3-storey townhouse with 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor with its own entrance. It's in the center of Jagna town, called Poblacion and is situated inside a private compound, very safe and comfortable, has homey, resort feel. Owned by Filipino and British couple who reside abroad (the 3rd floor is their personal room and is unoccupied most of the months).
With Queen size bed + single bed futon in the 1st room and another bunk bed with two Super Single bed in the 2nd room. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The property has 24-hour water supply, toilet and bathroom have water heater. It has a panrty-kitchen (no cooking please), living room with tv + dvd player, a counter bar area on the ground floor and a huge verandah on the main entrance of the 2nd floor for entertaining or having your meals.
The house in Jagna is about 60 minutes car / van ride from Bohol's airport or ferry terminal in Tagbilaran City. Whether you arrive in Bohol via an airplane from Manila or via ferry / boat from Cebu/Dumaguete, a visit in Bohol will be even more exciting with local experiences at lesser cost than staying in busy touristy areas. Especially if you come in a group of 5 to 6 people, like on a family vacation or a barkada trip. This is when our house comes really handy for convenience, comfort and value for money.
ISLAND HOPPING ITINERARY RECOMMENDATION
We recommend 2-3 nights stay as the home base. We can organize a van / car to pick you up from Tagbilaran City airport or ferry port and bring you to the house or to go on a countryside tour straight away. The driver will serve as your tour guide, too. On the 2nd day, you may opt to spend a day on one of the nice beaches of Bohol - Panglao Island or Anda. The 3rd day could be spent savouring a local experience of Jagna town with a visit in the town market and taste the famous Calamay, a visit of the Ilihan Shrine on top of the Ilihan Hill which affords a beautiful view of the seaside town or a visit to the rice fields that surrounds the town or the local Kinahugan Falls. Then finally, you could end your Bohol tour with a start of another destination by taking the ferry from Jagna Port en route to Camiguin or Cagayan de Oro.
If the group is bigger than 6 people, the big house behind can accommodate 10-15 people and can be an alternative or can be rented together.
WHY BOHOL TOWN HOUSE?
The owner has another sea-side property which guests can access for day use if they wish to. It's a ten minutes drive.
There's a mobile wi-fi available for the guests. Coffee and espresso making machines and electric kettle are provided along with toaster and fridge. The bar area and the pantry kitchen have utensils and crockeries for use while at home. Cable TV is also provided.
If you are visiting Bohol to experience the culture, enjoy the scenery with friends and family, you would want to come home to a place that feels like home (not a faceless cold hotel). Furthermore, if you are coming from Manila or Cebu, it's a great idea to see another exotic island - Camiguin - to complete an island hopping vacation. Camiguin is a 2.5 hour ferry ride away from Jagna Port. You may take Ocean Jet to Camiguin from this friendly town called Jagna with the ferry departing regularly (we can help you with tickets).
It's most convenient to many places - banks, hospitals, parks, restaurants, church, market, ferry terminal, transportation. The compound is gated and is very safe. The neighborhood is friendly and warm.
LOCATION and CONVENIENCE
The house is 5 minutes walk to the hospital, church, town market, port (ferries go to Camiguin Island, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan City), municipal hall and schools. Tricycles are easy to catch in the area and we can even arrange one for you. Neighbourhood is friendly.
If the guests want to explore the local town - see the market, visit some of the town pebbled beaches or see the cooking of the local delicacy Calamay - we can arrange it. If the guests want a meal to be cooked/prepared for them, this can also be done at a small fee.
Very convenient to public transport - tricycle, vans, buses as it's in Poblacion. Parking is inside the compound. A car or van pick up / drop off can be arranged easily from / to the airport or ferry terminal in Tagbilaran City.
No smoking in the bedrooms and inside the house. Balcony and verandah is fine.
No unlisted/unregistered guest allowed.
No party/entertainment past 10:30pm as the neighborhood is in a residential area and we wouldn't want the neighbors to complain of noise.
Pets must be pre-approved.
About the Host, Celevel
I'm hungry for experiences and exciting stories...and I do have my fair share to tell.
Originally from Bohol, currently residing in Singapore, I have visited many places and accommodation types. I appreciate beautiful designs, modern and traditional, but I'm leaning towards simple, soothing and relaxing places as I get older. I hope to share my place to people who also would like to stay in places where there's more than just a bed and a view.
