  • Our stay at Harlem Diggs was good. The apt is nice and tidy. Unfortunately we didn't manage to make the wireless work. I think that the apt is a great location and it's worth its price.

  • Very good opportunity: the subway is 5min away, the neighborhood is nice and safe, the flat is clean and well furnished, the host is cool and helpful. I warmly recommend this place.

  • Melanie is the best host you can ever imagine. The apartment looks even better than in the pictures, the energy is great and everything is nearby. We didn't mind that it's a basement apartment. We spent a whole month at Melanie's place and I can only find compliments for our host and aparment. In time when Sandy hit she provided us with a heater and extra warm & soft blankets. Melanie is one of the most warm and sweet persons we met during our stay in New York City. Harlem is also one of our favourite neighbourhoods in Manhattan and we would love to come back next time. Thank you so much Melanie, we love you :) Tina & Mike

  • We absolutely LOVED Melanie and her fabulous ground-floor apartment she calls "Harlem Diggs"! She is very warm, polite, and accommodating (she let us check in an early and was always easy to reach by phone or email). The apartment is so cozy and wonderful, with a fully appointed kitchen so we could cook our own meals and make coffee each morning. She's a block from the Apollo, a block from both the M60 bus and a subway, with a great bar on the corner and a great little deli/grocer 2 blocks away that's open 24 hours. Harlem is a great place to stay, and we always felt safe even at 3am going from the subway to the grocer and to the apartment. This was our first trip to NYC and Harlem Diggs made a GREAT base for our explorations of Central Park, Greenwich Village, Times Square, Chelsea and tons of other parts of Manhattan. We look forward to staying with Melanie again on our next trip to New York and hope you will too!

  • Melanie's place was as good as described. VERY fast express train to midtown, easy transfers to other trains. Her place was clean and in a very groovy area, 1 block from the main drag (125th St) Melanie answered all our questions (and we had many) and made us feel very welcome with much needed coffee and bagels. She is just down the street from a couple great restaurants (Sylvia's (very authentic) and Red Rooster (owned by Marcus Samuelson (famous chef) We'd never been to New York before and we had a very good experience.I would recommend Harlem Diggs for any NY newbies.

  • I would like to start of by saying that Melanie is such a wonderful person. Our check in time was for 3pm and she let us come 2 hours early. She made us feel real comfortable right when we met. She told us about all the cool spots around the area. The place was super clean and nice! And she have lots of towels, that's a big plus in my book. I'm a girl that wears make up often! She also was so kind to let us in the apartment when we locked ourselves out. She came down within 1 minute from her sleep. That was beyond great! Melanie is such a humble person and I love her home warming spirit. I would love to be back at Harlem Diggs whenever I'm back in New York!

  • Melanie is my first host on Airbnb and I couldn't have asked for a better host. She was friendly, informative, nonintrusive, and the apartment was clean, subway accessible and quiet.
I will recommend anyone to stay at Melanie's. Thanks Melanie and I do look forward to staying at your place again.
