The Space

VIEW AND LOCATION:Carefully designed small apartment (430 sq.ft) just close to Porta Portese historical open air market, located in the famous neighborhood of Trastevere . A few minutes to reach the historical center. Wonderful panoramic view from the balcony. It is possibile also to see one of the most important monumental sites in Rome, the 'Altare della Patria' located close 'Fori Imperiali'. The house is well served by public transports for city centre. It's easy and really fast reach the center by the tram numer 8; in a few minutes it takes you at 'Largo Argentina' stop and Venice square stop, close to Navona square and Fori Imperiali. You can reach the apartment from Fiumicino Airport or from Civitavecchia (where cruises leaving) just by train. Walking distance from the train stop! From Trastevere train station you have just to walk 50 meters (1 block) to reach the apartment. It 's also easy to reach by car and with good parking availability. For lovers of the markets just do a few steps on sunday to throw yourself in the famous market of Portaportese. The old Roman neighborhood of Trastevere and Testaccio can be reached with a pleasant walk. Close to the apartment find typical Roman restaurants and pizzerias as well as cinemas, markets, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, shops of every kind and elegant shops. We must not go far to get there and take a walk along the River Tiber, on foot or by bicycle, enjoying the banks of the River Tiber, the unbelievably beautiful sunset.

THE APARTMENT:The apartment is located in a building built in the late '50, where reside many families. Parquet flooring all around. In every room there is a window. On the balcony there is a table with chairs where to eat out or to enjoy the panoramic view nicely setting. The apartment is on the eighth floor with elevator. The apartment is composed by:-Entrance-a bedroom with a king size bed, a wardrobe and a convertible sofa bed well spaced-Fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs to eat(with oven and dishwasher)-One bathroom with shower(there is an hair dryer). It can be used all year round. The apartment is provided with wireless and air conditioned. There is a computer avalaible.

KID FRIENDLY: we can provide crib for infant or bed for kids, toys, books, car seat, stroller and bottles sterilizer.

THE APARTMENT HAS BEEN RENOVATED ON NOVEMBER 2010.

Guest Access

For guests is available free Wi Fi. On request, a transfer service to and from the airport. No smoking inside the apartment but you can do it on the balcony. This is to safeguard the guests who do not like the smell of smoke. There is a possibility for those who travel with children to have a stroller, a high chair for the baby food and games.

Interaction with Guests

I try to welcome all my guests. I am available for any questions and for all inquiries. When I can not because I'm busy with the kids or are not in the city helps me Patricia who lives nearby and is concerned to provide the keys and all the information necessary for getting around town. I do not live in the building but for any emergency run!

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is nice because is lively and ever changing . In recent years there has been much transformed , leaving room for the creativity of architects and an interesting phenomenon of recovery of industrial buildings. I love to go to Eataly , a large store dedicated to the excellence of Italian food , made from the restoration of an old train . Here you can eat at one of the many restaurants or buy anything .. only Italian ! I also like to go to the MACRO , Museum of Contemporary Art was born from the renovation of an old slaughterhouse. On Sunday , however, is special, there is Portaportese . A few steps and you enter into the oldest and largest market in Rome. My advice is to wake up early to shoot calmly, without the crowds and find the best bargains . And then a walk down to the center on the bank of the river and enjoying the peace with the first lights of the sunset and the view looking with the nose . And then for an escape from everything and everyone you need to climb on the Aventine Hill , sit in the Orange Garden and relax before looking out from the terrace from which to watch Rome.

Consigliatissimo!

  • The apartment was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable and convenient. Antonella is a lovely lady who went out of her way to ensure that our time in Rome was hassle-free and enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend Antonella and her apartment.

  • Antonella is extremely nice, friendly, and willing to help. We arrived in Rome without much planning and she was able to support me in many aspects from getting a house, holding my luggages for a couple of hours on the check-out date, providing us some foods for our breakfasts, and taking time to explain everything we needed to know.

Very responsive and kindly. Also, a very clean place at a good price. Take it while it's available!

  • This flat looks much better than in the pictures! It's very clean, very sunny, with a cosy balcony and beautiful semi-industrial view. And still smells of new!
We were a couple, and the apartment felt spacious enough. The bed is very comfortable and wide, nice to rest in after a long walking day.
We never used the kitchen but it has everything you need and want in a modern kitchen, all fits wisely in a small space that somehow feels much bigger. The big fridge was very convenient for storing our food-shopping to take back home ;-)

It is very conveniently situated by the Trastevere train station, which is as well a minus because of the train activity and noise you are exposed to, if you mind it.

The neighbourhood has plenty of coffe shops and places to eat a buffet lunch. Just round the corner is a coffee shop that also serves pizza and drinks, and serves our favourite croissants in the street.

Antonella is a friendly, service minded host that was in touch with us everyday and checked that everything was ok or if we needed something else. She joined us for a morning coffe in our departure day with her cute two children.

We will definitely come back to Antonella's apartment! :-)

  • THE HOST!
Antonella is the best host you could ask for.

I booked her flat for my parents and myself for our first trip to Rome, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Antonella was very warm and communicative from the time I booked her flat even on after we had left. She gave very detailed directions, always promptly responded, and when we'd gotten slowed down in the train station, she called to see how we were doing and met us at the restaurant next door to walk us directly to the flat. After showing us around the apartment (which is super clean and has a wonderful, sunny balcony), she offered to drive us in to the city centre. She went out of her way to show us some of her favorite sites on the drive in and dropped us right at the Colosseum. My parents had such a great experience that they wanted to open Airbnb accounts simply to provide reviews on Antonella as a host. They told me to "Be sure to say that we had a really good time and that Antonella was just great." :) She's amazing!

    THE FLAT
The flat looks exactly as it does in the photos and is clean, light, and modern feeling. Antonella had coffee, milk, and biscuits waiting for us (thank you, Antonella!), and also had universal adaptors for any electronics we brought. (Also, the wifi—two networks!—is fast and super reliable.)

    THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The restaurant next door, Albaruja, is a great option—friendly staff and great food. While the flat is next to the train tracks, the windows are double-paned and make the noise a non-issue. Even when we got warm, cracking the windows didn't let in much noise at all. There's a market nearby (maybe a 5 minute walk), and the Trastevere neighborhood is situated so that all the major sites are within walking distance. We never used public transit, although it's practically out the front door and quite convenient. It's also super handy that the train station is right there, as well, so that when you arrive or depart for the airport, you don't have far to go.

    I'd definitely stay here again.

  • Antonella is a really nice host. She came to pick us up at Ostiense station and left croissants and fresh milk in the fridge because of our late arrival. The appartment is very clean and practical. Extremely close to Trastevere trainstation (perfect connection to Fiumicino Airport). Trains can be loud sometimes tough.

  • Antonella's apartment in Rome was perfect for my husband and I! Convenient to the train station, and in a wonderful neighborhood - it was great! Antonella was very responsive and helpful during our entire stay in Italy, helping us decide which trains to take from where, etc. She is very informative about her city! The apartment was clean, comfy, and welcoming to us each night after exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment!

Patxi y Gemma.
