Practice social distancing in the country! Quiet and comfortable, easily accessible, this cottage will fit the bill! Internet access. Pet/kid friendly! Plenty of parking for large vehicles. Just 5 miles off I-40.

Located on a 68-acre working farm, the cottage sits in a peaceful valley surrounded by rolling hills, pastures and woods. Relax and enjoy the tranquility of the country. Get a taste of farm life. Or enjoy outdoor activities available in the area. Come enjoy our little piece of heaven!

The space
The cottage is the original farmhouse on the family farm. It has been renovated to include modern conveniences, while retaining the charm of the past.

Cleaning of the cottage is in compliance with the CDC’s recommendations for prevention of the Coronavirus. Antibacterial hand wash, hand gel, cleaning spray and wipes are provided for your convenience.

Guests may enjoy preparing meals in the country style kitchen. Step out back to the kitchen garden to pick fresh vegetables and herbs, when in season! Cookware, dishes, glassware and silverware are stocked for convenience. Large lawn with room for kids and dogs to play. Outdoor area with gas grill and a vintage pot belly stove to build a fire on chilly nights.

Wifi is provided in the home, but please be aware that service with some cell phone carriers may be spotty.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the cottage and yard. Feel free to sit on the porch of the quaint little “smokehouse” out back, but the interior is reserved for host’s use.

For the safety of our guests and animals, permission is required to access farm. Many of our animals are friendly and will love meeting you. Some may be more aloof. If you let me know, I will be glad to introduce you to the friendly animals and tell you about them.

The country road is great for a relaxing walk or exhilarating run and a great place to take your dogs for a walk.

Other things to note
Verizon cell phones usually work here; other carriers may be spotty.

There are lots of deer, so be careful driving, especially at night.

We are a farm with farm animals, snakes, bugs, etc. and can’t have folks unexpectedly roaming around due to liabilities. Please ask before you interact with the animals or set out for a hike on the farm.

Indoor dogs are allowed but must be on a leash when outside and crated anytime left alone inside. Our guardian dogs are bred to keep coyotes and dogs away from their goats and may not be very gracious to Fifi.
Please let me know if you will be having cats, as I have to plan to do extra cleaning due to allergies of some potential guests.

Those of us from "the holler" are a wonderful mix of locals, who have been here for many generations, and transplants, who have moved here from other areas. Most everyone is here because we love the tranquility of the country and the beauty of the hills. Don't be surprised if you find yourself "throwing your hand up" at passersby!

During your stay
Recently retired, I am enjoying spending time on the family farm. My home is visible but far enough away for you to have your privacy. I am available for any needs or questions and would love to socialize if you want. I love my animals and gardening, and I’d love to tell you about them!

I am usually somewhere on the farm and am always available via text or phone if you should need anything at all.
