About This Listing
This lovely flat is centrally located in an amazing part of Dublin- just 1min to St. Patrick's Cathedral,3mins to Christ Church. Enjoy the view on both from the terrace with your dearest! Enjoy the Zen approach of simplicity in the heart of Dublin :)
My lovely flat is just right up the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral. You can enjoy the view from the terrace having a glass of wine (or Guinness!). Also, during the St. Patrick's festival in March, the street of my flat is the ending point of St. Patrick's Day parade!!! Be ready to book for the infamous Irish saint day celebrations well ahead!
I decorated the house with Buddhism Zen ornaments shipped from Bali, Indonesia. It brings me delight to share the simplicity, tranquility and elegance of Asian-inspired art in this part of the world. It is the epitome of east meets west!
My flat has two bedrooms, the first with a double bed and second with a single bed. Each has many fluffy pillows, lots of drawers and a big closet- plenty of space to spread out and feel at home for a few days or weeks! The kitchen is really cute and is well-equipped with an electric hot-water kettle, microwave, toaster dishes, four-burner stove and oven, and even a washing machine. The couches are comfy to snuggle up with a good book on a drizzly Dublin evening at home, and I do my best to keep the flat fully stocked with candles to create more natural lighting and ambiance.
Despite the noise outside, after all, you are in the heart of Dublin, my wish is that you find peace and tranquility here. (And if you're not used to city noise at night, please bring along earplugs-at least for the first night ;)
Dublin is a somewhat small and very interesting city full of history in every nook and cranny! The neighborhood is full of mystery, medieval architecture and beauty. Grand Canal, St. Patrick's Cathedral, pass under the Christ Church (and bridge), River Liffey, Trinity college and Temple bar :)

Hi Alexis, you have a lovely place and the location was perfect. Thrilled we could get in a few hours earlier. I would definitely recommend to friends. This was my first experience with AirBnB and it was ver positive. Really appreciated all of your suggestions and the manual was very helpful. Your toiletries were much appreciated. It was so easy setting everything up and you were a joy to work with!
The location was fantastic. We arrived early and Alexis's cleaner was able to let us in an hour early so that we were not hefting around our bags.
If you are a light sleeper you may want to consider ear plugs and an eye mask during the summer months because the sky stays bright out until 1 in the morning and there are not black out shades on the windows. I found the bed very comfortable but my mom felt it was soft. The convenience store was only a short block down St Patrick's which was very convenient. It is up 2.5 flights of stairs so if you are travelling with an older or less agile individual you may want to look at other options as luggage up and down the flights proved challenging.
The host was very communicative during the process and was helpful during our unexpected, late night checkin. My daughter and i spent two nights here because it was located centrally. It was not the very best experience due to the poor quality of the bed in the room i used.
The location of this rental great. It was a quick walk to everything. Two stars strictly for that.
But, the rest was problematic. The Wifi was spotty, the washer/dryer was broken, the closet in the second bedroom was filled with bedding that was being air dried and had no space for my things and we had to buy paper towels because there was no hand towel in the bathroom. Worst of all, at least from my friend's perspective, there was mold all over the bathroom ceiling.
Additionally, light sleepers steer clear unless you bring earplugs, it's on a busy street and the windows don't block much noise out at all.
If you're just looking for a place to crash for a bit that's near the action, this is probably a good fit. Otherwise, you might want to keep looking.
We had a great stay at Alexis' place. It was only one night but we wish we could have stayed longer as it is so central to the sights of Dublin and the Temple Bar area. Alexis provided plenty of helpful information and was flexible about our checking time. The apartment is just as it looks in the photos. We would definitely stay again.
Let me start by saying that the location of this flat allowed us to walk to almost every tourist site without difficulty. This was our priority! We were notified the day before arrival that there was a problem with the hot water heater and were offered a different apartment in a different area of Dublin at the same price. We were quite disappointed, as we had planned our activities in Dublin based on the location of the original apt. As a result we asked Alexis if there was anyway repairs could be done between then and the next day when we arrived. Alexis responded by saying “The flat is already ready for you :) “. When we arrived at 6pm Agustin (who was to let us in) said that the plumber had not yet arrived and would come the following day. We accepted this as Agustin had made arrangements with the water heater for us to shower that night. Upon arriving back at the apartment the following day we received an email from Alexis saying “I dropped by to ask if you are doing fine, well, I really hope so.” The repairs were still not completed but again Agustin arranged for the water to be hot enough for a shower.
The apartment overall was modestly appointed but adequate. There was no tv (consistent with the listing) and the bathroom was in need of some work (mold on the ceiling and walls). One of the attractions to this apartment was the washer/dryer and we were able to use it with some difficulty as the handle was broken. Had it not been for the water heater and the washer /dryer I would have given 4 stars. We were certainly not looking for glamour.

About the Host, Alexis
;) I am out-doorsy nature lover that loves traveling and meeting people! Also I love trying new things! So far, I have studied and worked in 8 different countries around the world. (not counting the good number of places I have visited and travelled -- so far 247 cities in 40 countries!! I know it's a lot!!)
I love trying different things and learning new things. I have studied computer science, energy market, technology policy, data science and worked for many international organizations - a game company in Korea, environmental consulting firm in Paris, a startup in Boston and Faecbook here in Dublin. I used to be a secretary for a congressman in Korea making regulations and writing for his speeches, and I was selling some ramen pots to K-pop (Korean pop) fans in Indonesia, US and Ireland.
I brought lots of art pieces from Bali and Thailand to Dublin and had two Indonesian art exhibitions in Dublin since arriving! Some of these art pieces you can find in my airbnb flats! :)
With Facbook (I can't type the proper name because of airbnb's website hiding policy but i mean the evil awesome, social media company), which is my latest magic place, I created and led a project to understand permanent account deletion users through their demographic data and behavior data, which was fascinating!! :D
Briefly introducing my outdoorsy life, I am semi-professional scuba diver; have dove more than 300 times in quite diverse places including Atlantic sea, Red sea, Florida, Indonesia, Thai, Malaysia, Mediterranean and Korea! I personally love Bali SO MUCH and lived in Bali for half year, collecting interesting paintings, meeting Balinese artists to help them build their own webpages to sell their art works, and swimming, diving and surfing! And in addition to scuba diving, I do horse back riding, wind surfing, running, bit of surfing and cycling. (I did cycling a lot in infamous winery region in France such as Bordeaux and Burgundy. ;-) Ping me if you are interested in half drunk cycling in gorgeous French winery towns!
Now I live in Seoul, South Korea and Dublin, Ireland half & half, so ping me when you are coming to one of these places! :-) I love meeting people and hopefully I can meet interesting and lovely people through Airbnb while I am in the same place as you! :)
Life is amazing! Looking forward to meeting you :D
