A beautiful home from home set in the hills of the French Riviera and just twenty minutes to the coast. Our typical Provençal home offers bed and breakfast in just the perfect location for exploring the South of France. Equally perfect for that intimate and romantic trip away or with a large group of friends the villa has the ideal space for you. As our five children have pretty much flown the nest we have decided to open up our family home to airbnb guests. You can read the reviews below to see just how popular we have been.
***** WE HAVE 6 BEDROOMS AVAILABLE, SO IF THE DATES YOU REQUIRE SHOW AS BOOKED THEN PLEASE ENQUIRE THROUGH ONE OF MY OTHER LISTING FOR THE SAME PROPERTY. ******
The villa has seven bedrooms in total with large grounds of 8,000 square metres. We are in a totally peaceful haven of tranquillity yet still very well located for touring the region. We are surrounded by scores of pretty villages and squares (Mougins, St Paul de Vence and Valbonne to name but a few), yet just a short drive to coastal favourites like Cannes, Nice and Antibes. We are also just a five minute drive from the beautiful perfume town of Grasse. Needless to say we are a great centre for wonderful walks and bike rides in the hills or mountains.
We are able to offer six bedrooms as bed & breakfast nightly rentals.
* Cannes Room * Master double bedroom with French doors leading onto the garden and a huge walk-in Italian stone wet room with a toilet, bath and open shower. This room is on the ground floor yet tucked privately and quietly away at one end of villa. There is Sky TV where channels are shared with the rest of the property.
* Grasse Room * A lovely first floor round double bedroom in typical French style but with the added bonus of a lovely outdoor bathroom and views to the sea & mountains where you can relax on one of the sun-loungers or enjoy an outdoor bath or shower. There is also a loo and indoor shower-room opposite which is usually used exclusively for this room unless you have taken more than one room of course.
* Antibes Room * A pretty little first floor bedroom with a double bed. This room is often used as a satellite to the round bedroom for children or larger parties. There is Sky TV where channels are shared with the rest of the property.
* Gourdon Room * A pretty little bedroom with two single beds. This room is often used as a satellite to the round bedroom for children or larger parties and is on the first floor.
* Mougins Room * A nice big ground floor double bedroom with its own private bathroom opposite. There is Sky TV where channels are shared with the rest of the property.
* Garden Suite * This is where we actually live and it is therefore only available from time to time. It is located in a lovely self-contained apartment which is part of the house. As well as having two bedrooms, there is also a lovely fully equipped kitchen and stone shower. The apartment also has its own little garden-room which sits beautifully next to the swimming pool.
We try not to mix parties on the first floor so you will usually have total privacy up there. The villa is nearly 300 square metres in size and generally there will be just two of us at home. On occasions, I am away and you will have the entire property to yourselves. During these periods Breakfast will not be available. I will let you know about this at the time of booking.
The villa has the most wonderful outside space with several terraces, including the one on the roof! There is also another large terrace leading from the lounge overlooking the swimming pool which you are of course quite welcome to use weather permitting. If you feel like cooking 'Al Fresco' then there is a great outdoor kitchen with a Weber BBQ, and a wood burning pizza oven. This is all set in a beautiful shady area where you can relax easily with family and friends. When you have had enough of the sun, this area has a dining table and 2 Moroccan stone sofas.
Inside there is obviously a high standard of tasteful furnishing and level of comfort, with lots of areas where you can simply relax after a hard day exploring this beautiful region.
For you cooks out there we have a wonderful professional kitchen with 48' Wolf Cooking range with BBQ and Teppanyaki, Sub-Zero 600 Fridge/ freezer granite throughout and as Louise is a chef it is naturally very well equipped! We do not generally make the kitchen available to guests without prior arrangment so please be sure to ask at the time of booking.
Chef facilities (by Louise) are occasionally available for that special celebration lunch or dinner and can often be cheaper than going out to eat. The other benefit of this is that you do not have to worry about babysitters or taxis and can enjoy fantastic wine at supermarket prices! Just ask for our CATERING WEBSITE. We also have a 16 year old daughter that is often available (with references) for babysitting.
It is conveniently located just a 5 minutes drive from the old French perfume town of Grasse which has the most wonderful history. The old town is extremely interesting with tiny streets that wind forever between the historic buildings, leading up and down ancient steps and passing through arched tunnels, sometimes opening out on to large squares. There is also near the magnificent cathedral of Grasse (with three Rubens!) and Fragonard which is one of the main perfumeries of Grasse - 'the perfume capital of the world'. You might have even read the book! You might want to even have a wander around the local produce market (not one of the biggest) in the Place des Herbes, and the daily flower market is held in Place aux Aires where there is also a large choice of Provençal restaurants. There is public underground car park.
The villa is less than an hour away from the nearest ski resort - Gréolières and there are 3 more excellent ski-resorts, Val d'Allos, Isola 2000 and Auron just ninety minutes down the road. There are also some great excellent golf courses in and around Grasse. There are lots of hiking routes and paragliding is also a popular local sport up in Gourdon. Sail boats can be hired down in nearby Cannes and there are all the other popular water sports including water-skiing, windsurfing, parascending and stand-up paddle.
For children, there is the excellent Oceanographic museum at Monaco, the Florian sweet factory at Pont sur Loup, and Antibes Land which has a water park, aquarium and farm. There is also go-karting nearby and a glass-bottom boat goes out from Juan les Pins checking out the wrecks and sea-life in and around the exclusive Cap d'Antibes. Our kids also love the great climbing place down in Villeneuve Loubet.
We stayed only one night with Wayne and Louise, but wished we had spent a week. They were great hosts and we loved there home. The house and surrounding views beautiful and a huge breakfast was provided in the morning. Even though we had only one night with Wayne and Louise we found it hard to leave the next morning and had wished we had another night up our sleeve to stay. We will be back at some stage for sure. They made us and our 4 girls really welcomed. It was a real joy to meet them both!
Very luxurious and scenic villa-style B & B. Wayne and Helen were gracious, friendly hosts; their advice about attractions, activities, and restaurants in Grasse, Cannes, and Nice was invaluable- much more accurate and detailed than can be found in any tourist guidebook.
My husband and I spent 16 days in France and by far this was our favorite part of the trip. Wayne and Lucy were amazing hosts offering the best suggestions, directions and some good laughs.
We stayed in the Cannes Rm which was located in a private, romantic section of the house with stunning views from every window. We took hundreds of pics just of the house and view.
The villa is situated in a perfect area for sight seeing. We stayed for a week and visited Cannes, Nice, Grasse, St. Tropez, and Monte Carlo all with ease. Plenty of patisseries, grocery stores and restaurants close by for convenience as well.
Wayne generously offered up his apt to us in Cannes for a night but we loved our villa so much we declined. Very kind.
Over the week we got to know Wayne and Lucy much better and really enjoyed their company. On our last night, Lucy made a fantastic dinner for us and we enjoyed a marvelous sendoff to Lyon and Paris. A night of good laughs with new friends.
Thanks again for a very memorable stay and for the opportunity to get to know you and your lovely family.
We will definitely return and highly recommend your home to our friends.

Absolutely perfect for a vacation by yourselff or with children. Wayne is the friendliest and funniest host one can imagine.
Thinking we had already reached Paradise, Wayne topped it all off by letting us stay in his apartment in the center of Cannes for one night. Thus, we did not merely enjoy the peace and tranquility of Grasse but also got to spend a night in the old part of Cannes.
We will come back. For sure.
Beautiful place, everything o.k.
COOLEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED! wayne and lucy were so nice to stay up late to guide us there.. we got a little lost and they talked us through it and stayed up to let us in late. the house was SO BEAUTIFUL. it is like a fairy tale house. the breakfast was amazing- the best breakfast we have gotten so far from the b&bs we have stayed at. they were such nice and humorous people. i wish we wouldve planned a longer stay. they are also very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and attractions. the view is awesome also
I wasn't the biggest fan of B&B, but when you'll spend 1 month in your native France and the best solution you've found for the Côte d'Azur is a beautiful, well located B&B, you decide to give it a chance... That being said, liking people AND my intimacy with my family too, I had some doubts about being comfortable in this style of accommodation.
Fortunately, Wayne and Lucy have found the balance between being responsive to your needs, give you some informations and advices, and leave you in your peaceful “bubble” the rest of the time.
This first try was a pleasant one, we'll come back without hesitation.
This is absolutely my best airbnb experience so far. Wayne and Lucy are such gracious host, they received us with tea and wine, and a warm talk in their beautiful lounge, which makes me instantly feel like home. They are so warm and helpful. Lucy prepared breakfast for us everyday, Wayne literally planned our three days trip in the region. He not only recommended us where to see, how to get around, and most importantly, where to dine! From neighborhood restaurant, to a hide way spot tucked in Vallebona of Italy. Yes, we drove from France, across Monaco to Italy side just to eat. It's the best fun meal I ever had, no menu, they just kept bringing us dish after dish non stop. The sea food restaurant in Cannes definitely offered the best sea food we ever tasted. This is a memorable vocation we would always talk about years later I believe, all thanks to Wayne and Lucy.
Wonderful villa and great hosts! The best breakfasts in France. :)
Staying with Wayne and Lucy at their villa will be the best experience of your holiday, and you won't want to leave. It is as fabulous as the pictures look. They are outstanding hosts that provide a wonderful, relaxing space to chill out or to use as a base to visit many other towns and villages near-by. They can help with suggestions and recommendations with a range of activities. They are warm, engaging & generous people, who make you feel instantly welcomed in their home. Lucy provides a fabulous, sustaining, breakfast. There are lots of rooms to choose from, the master bedroom and ensuite are particularly generous in space. Be sure to follow Wayne's instructions to get there. Totally recommend staying at this villa!!!
