Lawrence and Jeanette were very hospitable, helpful and caring. I really enjoyed my time here and would stay again :-)
I was warmly welcomed and very well looked after by Lawrence and his wife. It's a very comfortable and independent place. I'm most grateful and would definitely stay again.
Thank you, Lawrence. We enjoyed your good smile and the muffins and your umbrella.
Lawrence greeted me warmly and assisted with my bags up the stairs. He was helpful with the local services and assisted me get my bearings. I was invited to join him and his wife on an excursion, both of the days I was there. Unfortunately, I was too tired from my trip, but I appreciated the offers. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from a grocery store and the bus stop.
This was my second time staying here and it was another great experience. Very accommodating and can't recommend enough.
We did a split stay on the 9th and 11th April. Lawrence very kindly allowed us to leave our belongings in the room on the 10th. Much appreciated and less weight for us to carry on our cycles. This is an excellent place to stay, please see my previous review for details.
This sleepout is in an excellent location for the Train Station, Racecourse, Rugby Stadium and is easily accessible for visiting the centre of Christchurch. We arrived on the train from Picton and in 10 minutes had cycled to Lawrence's place where we were able to secure our bikes in a dry shed. The start of the Little River rail trail is approx. 6km away along good cycle lanes. We cycled to Little River, stayed at Little River Hotel which is also excellent, and cycled back the next day. The heater and ensuite shower room were very welcome. We left in the dark at 6am to catch our train back to Picton but as the room is self contained and away from the house with good outside lighting we were able to have breakfast in our room and leave without any disturbance. Lawrence has a gem of a place here and we would not hesitate to stay again. Should also add there is a whole range of shops and restaurants within an easy 10 minute walk. Thanks for your great hospitality Lawrence.
