We are a 5 minute walk from South Congress District's shops, restaurants and clubs. Public transportation is easily accessible.
No smoking inside. No pets. Quiet time after 10 pm.
This being my 4th year at SXSW the house was as perfect this time as it was in the past! A great location with space, comforts and all you wood need, but still remaining close enough into mail transport or a short walk into the centre of austin. A delightful space i would love to stay again.
If you are going to Austin to attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Drownland House is perfect. It is a private room, bathroom, and entrance in a house across from a park (great for a morning walk or run). The neighborhood is lovely. Very cute bungalow type houses. It is a 5 minute walk (through this quiet neighborhood) to So. Congress St which has everything you can want: great restaurants, shops, live music, grocery store and bus stop. Paul and Cheryl were wonderful hosts. Cheryl spent a half hour (over a glass of wine on their wonderful porch) circling restaurants, bus stops and sites on a map. She had baked us cookies and put wine and beer in the fridge (comes with the room). And left candles on the porch on the night we came home at 10:30 in a rainstorm.
Don't stay anywhere else.
Cheryl and Paul were so welcoming. They were very helpful showing us the neighborhood and telling us about the good places to go. And in fact the places they suggested were really good.
the guest house was clean , I loved the decoration. Cheryl provided us with a welcome basket and asked us if we need anything.
the place is 2 minutes away from a bus stop and the main street has shops, restaurants and bars . Such a good neighborhood.
Very very good experience. I recommend the place to everybody
Going to a city you dont know for the first time can be scary when you are on your own. But my experience at Drownland House made my trip .From a Lovely warm welcome, to a survival care package Cheryl and Paul made me feel at home and were very accommodating to my drop in and out needs of attending a conference i couldn't have asked for better hosts.
The room was large and spacious with its own bathroom perfect accommodation to stay in whilst visiting Austin
A must visit, Will definitely want to go again
