The Space

The guest suite is set up to comfortably accommodate 3 and we can provide additional mattress for up to 2 additional guests.

Cultivate wellness with quiet tranquility, meditative woodland walks, and clean air and water. This is a perfect place for artists and writers to find their muse or for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy a mountain hike, snowshoe (in season!), swim in the pond (in season!), enjoy bird watching, and the occasional sighting of fox, deer, and other woodland animals.

Find your space in our 17.5 secluded acres of trails, pastures, and swimming pond.

If you want to venture out, you can enjoy skiing nearby at Crotched Mountain, or sightseeing in the Monadnock Region, New Hampshire's beautiful Lakes Region, the White Mountains, or Seacoast. Take a look at our Guidebook for suggestions!

The home is on a quiet, historic, scenic dirt road. It's not a party place but rather a place for peaceful retreat and relaxation.

The rental suite consists of two adjoining rooms: one bedroom with a double bed and a twin bed, and a second room with kitchenette (mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, and stove top), sitting area, and a folding table. There is an available high twin sized airbed or a double futon mattress that can be used in the second room for extra guests.

You have your own private bath with shower. Sit outside on the private deck to enjoy your morning coffee in the peaceful wooded environment.

-Hiking trails
-Swimming pond
-Public hiking trails up the mountain
-Kitchenette includes:
* Mini-fridge
* Coffee maker
* Microwave
* Toaster oven
* Stovetop
* Electric kettle
* Pots, utensils
Fire Pit: There is an outdoor fire pit surrounded by sitting stumps, which is available to guests on request. Bring your own wood or purchase from us for $20/night (unlimited wood - just leave $ on counter when you check out).

We value and respect our guests' privacy and space. However, we live in the main home and are usually available as needed during your stay. There's no doorbell but feel free to knock on the front door if you need us!

You'll need a car to get around the area but can park and ride in Nashua to catch the very comfortable bus to Boston.

We have a very friendly dog and typically aloof cat in our part of the house (and grounds). If you are travelling with pets let us know and we can talk about whether or not they will fit in here.

Guest Access

Access to swimming pond and hiking trails.
Free wifi.

Interaction with Guests

The bnb is an attached guest suite - very private and quiet - but we are usually home in the main house and available as needed.

The Neighborhood

Crooked S Road is a quiet, rural, dirt road, which has been designated as an historic scenic road. It is the site of the old Lyndeborough Poor Farm (where indigents would work for their room and board), now converted to a lovely horse farm. James Taylor's song "Walking on a Country Road" seems to reverberate in the air here. And speaking of the air, you've never breathed air so clean and wonderful!

Getting Around

There is virtually no public transit in rural New Hampshire. You'll need a car to get around.

Other Things to Note

Cell service: AT&T works best.
No smoking!
Please ask about pets before booking! We love them and they love it here but we want to communicate about it before you book.
